I got these two little amazing monsters almost a year ago and completely forgot to leave a review. The pic is day one on the way home. I always read negative reviews before moving forward with anything to see if they are warranted. The negative reviews about Canine Castaways are untrue and not warranted. It makes me happy that the application process is thorough. They want to make sure that the prospective owner is going to take care of the animal before releasing it to a new owner. This way these castaways do not end up being castaways again. Now, on to my experience with CC. Melissa was the person I worked with at CC to adopt my little dudes. I was originally looking for a bonded pair because I wanted two puppies that I knew got along right off the bat, and I stumbled upon 4 little cuties at CC. None of them were bonded, but they all got along. There was a brother and sister and then two other guys. I was originally interested in the siblings, but in working with Melissa, she helped me weigh the pros and cons of the siblings and the unrelated boys ended up being the dogs for me. The process was rather easy although thorough. Again, I love this because an animal shouldn’t have to deal with being relocated twice. The boys were healthy, came with complete medical records. I had some questions during the process, and after I had them in my possession, and Melissa was kind enough to answer them. I didn’t expect a response the same day because these are VOLUNTEERS, but she was on point and it was refreshing. With all that being said, the reason why I am leaving a review a year later is because I have decided to get another puppy, and my first thought was to reach out to Melissa. She sent me a link so I could go there this weekend and I decided to finally leave a review. Canine Castaways, thank you for what you do for these animals and for the easy but thorough adoption process. Special thank you to Melissa for guiding me through the process and helping me to make an informed decision on two very special family members. Looking forward the third!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Two weeks ago we unexpectedly had to put our sweet Timber boy down. He had a mass in his stomach; going into surgery we thought it was possibly something he had swallowed. This was late Friday, so they kept him out with him and loved on him until we came to say goodbye when they opened the next day. He was loved on like he should have been. This was our first time at this vet and their compassion for our family and Timber was heartfelt and appreciated. It was a very difficult time. Kim was amazing and even made paw prints and nose prints for us. Trina up front, I appreciated all your hugs. Diana thanks for also taking good care of our sweet boy. When we are ready for another dog we will be back. Wouldn’t go anywhere else now. Thank you.

We brought our 7 yr old Sheltie in for a checkup. We were never seen by the vet just dealt with the vet tech. Simple check up turned into over $800 with numerous tests. We were told our dog had heart issues and pancreatitis. They put our girl on meds including heart meds. We had a bad feeling based on our visit. We went to another vet and sent all results to a second vet along with a cardiologist and had a echocardiogram done. 3 vets and a cardiologist state our little girl is fine and to remove her from the heart meds immediately. We called and attempted to speak the vet Dr Pam numerous times with no luck and no return call. We ended calling back and spoke to a lady who stated she was the vet tech. We explained what happened and about the major misdiagnosis. The lady said well we won’t give any money back as they did the tests. They didn’t seem to be concerned that they totally misdiagnosed our dog! This is so scary especially with them putting our dog on heart meds when they were not needed! It cost us thousands of dollars all for a misdiagnosis, which could have resulted in major issues for our dog. The office manager was supposed to call us back to discuss but never did.

Kim is the nicest lady. She goes so above and beyond for every fur baby that needs her! And Canine Castaways is a great rescue to support and adopt from. I should know, we've adopted our three 🐕🐩🐕🐾 dogs from them. Each one perfect in their little way and each one wouldn't be here without Castaways and Kim. Our most recent had his 2 little front leggies broken! 🥺 I can't wait to make the rest of his life the best he deserves!!! Support your rescues!!! ❣️

I can not say enough good things about this vet! They were so accommodating, taking us in last minute for a pancreatitis scare. We have never been here before and they did not skip a beat to help take care of us. The staff was so attentive and kind. They are extremely knowledgeable and explain things without hesitation. The facility is well equipped with technology and resources.
