We visited Altamonte Pet Doc Hospital today as a new patient, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. When I scheduled the appointment, I was clearly told the cost would be $80 for the consultation and $85 for yearly vaccines. Upon arrival, the receptionist confirmed we were there for a consultation and vaccines, including rabies, DHPAP, and bordetella. However, when the provider came in, he asked why we were there and did not seem aware of the reason for our visit. I mentioned a few concerns, assuming they would be addressed as part of the consultation, but he did not communicate much or properly address them. There was no blood work done and no heartworm testing, which I expected as part of a routine annual exam. At checkout, I was charged a significantly higher amount than what I was originally quoted. There were unexpected additional fees, including charges for sending a NexGard prescription to Chewy and even for printing out records. It felt like there was an extra fee for everything. When I brought up my concerns, the receptionist simply stated that the doctor is “bad at communicating.” This is unacceptable pricing and services should be clearly explained upfront so patients can make informed decisions before anything is done. The only reason I came here was because my previous veterinarian closed down, but based on this experience, I will not be returning.

I’ve been coming to this office for many years and have always had a wonderful experience. The front desk staff are consistently sweet and professional, and the doctor has always been helpful with any health issues my dogs have had. The prices are very affordable, and my favorite feature is the walk-in option for those last-minute emergencies. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone in the Altamonte Springs area!

Helped my Dobby and gave me medicine for him at a reasonable price ($400 for a shot, slight sedation, medication and a shot). I got a next day appointment, which was a lot cheaper than going to an emergency vet. Didn’t turn my cat away for his aggression, he just had to be sedated. The vet’s assistant was very kind and gentle with my cat, which helped him not to be so afraid (he was slightly sedated in the photos). I liked the vet here. He helped my cat. He was making jokes and being friendly.

Horrible place ! They are the worst in keeping your pets records . I called today to get approval on my dogs med she’s been on for 4 years and they couldn’t find a thing further looking into it I come to find out they haven’t even update my phone number since 2014 . They’ve charge me for double doses of same bortatella that caused my dog to throw up all night for not reading documents showing she had just received it . Elisa who works desk claims if customer doesn’t tell them to update records they won’t -really ? since 2014 no one has asked me either ? Accountability - zero here

I had a very disappointing experience at this clinic. No tests were run on my dog. I was simply told to change my dog’s food, then the Dr left the room and later returned to give two injections (an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory) and sent me home with medication. I was initially told the visit would cost $70, but when I checked out, the total was $370 due to the injections and take-home medication. This was not clearly communicated or explained beforehand. There was very little communication throughout the visit, and I don’t feel that the original concern I brought my dog in for was properly addressed. Now I have to take my dog to another clinic to get the situation properly evaluated and corrected. Overall, I am very unhappy with the lack of transparency and care. I would rate this place zero stars if I could. Response to owner: I would never refuse a urine sample or any diagnostic testing to better understand what was going on with my pet. Additional testing was never recommended or discussed with me. The doctor returned with two medications giving in office and explained what it is for but once again no testing was done. The response provided feels very dismissive of my concerns and does not accurate reflect what occurred during the visit. Clear communication and transparency are essential in vet care, and unfortunately that is what was lacking in the situation. Very disappointing.
