How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Bolton Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Called during a pet emergency yesterday as I was told it was the only place with an exotic vet in the area. It says "PRESS 9 IF YOUR PET IS HAVING A LIFE EMERGENCY" .... I pressed 9, then was put on HOLD for 20 minutes only for someone to answer and say "IS THIS A REAL EMERGENCY OR CAN I PUT YOU ON HOLD?!" ....to which I replied "I CANNOT BE PUT ON HOLD!! THIS IS A REAL EMERGENCY!". They then told me the "Exotic Vet" was OUT FOR THE DAY. My animal ended up passing away and I had a horrible experience trying to get any help here.

We were referred here after hours because our puppy sliced his paw open and needed stitches. The person I spoke to when I called was wonderful, she was very informative on what to do and helped us make an appointment. She called us 30 min later saying they got a cancellation and to come now! We were in and out in an hour and our puppy got his stitches and antibiotics. Very grateful for our experience

Make sure you call first even when f you have an emergency. They are always short staffed and too busy to see your sick pet. They will happily give you a list of other places to go. I suggest going elsewhere first.

They're very kind, with good hospitality. I did not get seen, because it turned out what my cat ate did not warrant an emergency visit, but they were very kind and patient with me while I waited in their waiting room.

Bolton vet has been there for me and my pets, time and time again. I cannot tell you how fortunate I feel to have such a dedicated team to look after my family. In the past 5 years I have been shown excellent customer service and my animals have been given excellent care. Every member of the staff that I have ever interacted with has been kind, knowledgeable and helpful. You really do have peace of mind when you have a dedicated team like this.
