How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I love this place! I was nervous about a more widely known vet vs a mom and pop because I thought I would feel like one of many to just get in and get out. But they are so kind here. They are sweet to my dog, knowledgeable, helpful and make great recommendations without being pushy or feeling salesy. They honestly just want what’s right for you and your pet.

We dropped our dog off for a comprehensive 6-month exam at 9:30 AM, and was told he would be done within an hour. Went to pick him up, and was told they hadn't even started his exam and that he'd be ready around 2 PM. Hadn't heard anything and called back at 3:30. We were told that they were running behind because the staff forgot about a mandatory staff meeting. REALLY Banfield? Would you take your child to a doctor who prioritized a staff meeting over your child's care? This location continues to get worse and worse. Cancelling our service and going elsewhere.

I was impressed with the knowledge, compassion, and overall professionalism of the doctor Allison Wolfel and her team at the Orchards Banfield location. They did the precise amount of sedation my cat needed to relax without over sedating him. For the first time, my cat's exam and treatment went smoothly without escalating his anxiety. Afterwards, I got a comprehensive report of his condition and necessary next steps. The doctor answered all my questions competently and gave me piece of mind. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking quality medical care for their pet at a reasonable price, provided by a team of professionals.

I need to change my review in fairness to the staff of this facility. They are hard working, caring and patient. I was frustrated with the fact that I scheduled to be seen and specifically put in my comments that I needed specific work done on top of the comprehensive. The staff didn’t see it because the app is not built in a way that the staff can see the comments clearly. So, it’s not the staffs fault, it’s the creators of the app that need to help them out a bit by making notes that customers make, more clear. The staff have enough trouble dealing with entitled and rude pet owners, they could use a break from sucky tech.

Very caring and compassionate and I can get my dog in rather quickly. The only thing I don't like is the dog is taken to an exam area instead of having the vet exam the animal in front of owner.
