Preventive care

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

We had a great experience here! We took our kitty here after calling around to find a place to take us same day. Dr Innes and his staff were not only able to accommodate us, but they were kind and educational. I have never felt so comfortable in a vet office before.

We've brought all three of our cats here and can say it the best vet we've ever been too. Dr Innes is so knowledgeable and kind with helping us since one of our boys is sickly. The staff is also amazing. Anytime I call I just say my name and they already know my pet. Would give 10 stars if possible.

Dr. Innes is kind and patient and explains everything about the exams and results. The staff are all friendly and care about the animals they see. Yes they may not be the cheapest vet you can find, but in our experience with our three dogs that we have taken there it is worth it to get a doctor and staff who care about your dogs and take the time to talk to you about your dogs and what is going on with their health.

BE CAREFUL with this vet clinic. My experiences there were great initially, Dr. Innes repaired my dog's knee which had a torn muscle. I trusted this doctor after that procedure and moved my dog over to him full time. A few months later my dog was diagnosed with Cushings. This is where everything went downhill. Dr. Innes did an incredibly poor job of educating me on what this disease entailed. Worse, he prescribed a medication that he clearly did not know enough about. He gave far too high of a dosage to begin treatment. The high dosage combined with no tests done immediately before starting the medicine to see if my dogs body was even healthy enough to be on new meds lead to disastrous results. My dog suddenly passed away from complications with the new medicine, he died of a seizure. Looking back now there were multiple warning signs missed by Dr. Innes to not put my dog on this medication. My dog was elderly and I feel it was incumbent on the doctor to tell me everything, good and bad, about the medication and let me decide for myself. Of course the medicine and accompanying tests were extremely expensive. I am not saying he was motivated by money, but I am saying he made a lot off me from a medicine that I would never have put my dog on had I known the possible complications. The worst of it was when I called after my dog died to speak with the doctor. The doctor attacked me for asking questions, brushed aside my concerns, said I was wrong, said the ER where my dog died was wrong. Everyone was wrong except for him. He also told me I could have read about the medication myself to see the possible complications. Great, what did I need him for then if I could have researched medications and diseases myself? He also accused me of just looking for someone to blame...this after I held my dog in my arms while he died...long story short I do not recommend Dr. Innes to anyone.

The sad day came when my family had to put our loving dog to sleep. We were previously long time customers of another corporate local vet. We called multiple vets that were unable to help our dog on short notice. Without hesitation Village Vet made time for my family and my pup, that was in pain. They were genuine and knew how to handle the situation. My girl's last few moments were in comfort because of this vet. My other family will be switching their vet care to here. 6 out of 5 stars.
