How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Bear Creek Veterinary Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour
If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.

They were able to see my older sick cat the same day i called. Everyone was very pleasant, efficient, and caring. Highly recommend

The Bear Creek staff had a warm and caring bedside manner with my sweet, senior boy. My dog is very important to me. His care is very important to me. Being new in town, I wasn't sure what to expect with a new veterinary hospital. But Bear Creek put my mind at ease, was thorough, and provided timely follow up on our visit.

One star now that Dr. Connie is gone. This vet is the WORST at calling, following up, and generally getting things done. They have attitudes and the Dr is almost never there. Dr Connie was the only reason this place was worth the trip and the time. Now she is gone and Dr Singh is left. Dr Singh cares more about taking money than about your pet. Do not go here. Do not waste your time or money.

One of the worst vet experiences of our life. They told us they were under new ownership since our last visit, and it shows. Really made us feel like they were all about the money and didn't care about our dogs at all. We do not recommend this vet to anyone, and all of our friends have had similar experiences

I have had a great experience with this veterinary for as long as my dog and I have went here. They are very friendly and understanding. My dog Yogy has had very poor experiences with other veterinary clinics and hates the vet, but despite his severe behavioral issues, they have always cared to treat him as well as possible and make it as quick and stress-free as possible. Unfortunately, I have moved and can no longer continue to go here for Yogy's vet needs, but I would highly recommend Bear Creek Veterinary. They really care about your pet/(s) and never try to cheat you out of money. They confirm any treatments you would like done beforehand, show you the invoice before any steps are taken, share payment options (recommending a good pet insurance), and never pressure you into procedures that you can't afford at the time. Overall, I wonderfully experience with them especially considering Yogy's fear of vets. In addition, they are very understanding and helpful with smoothly sharing and transferring Yogy's information to his new veterinary. I will never stop recommending them to those with pet/(s) in Stockton.
