How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Community Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Choosing a veterinarian is an important decision for pet parents. A strong vet relationship is built on trust, communication, and understanding your pet’s individual needs.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

Facility Tour

Great prices and even better people! All within one week we had to have 2 of our dogs down (for unrelated health issues). In between those two difficult visits we also had another dog pass away at home (again, for completely different health issues than the other two). I can honestly say at a time when we were completely heart broken we were also very blessed. These folks went above and beyond. In addition to being affordable they are gracious, patient, sympathetic and respectful. Before, I thought the care would be limited or sub-par given the affordability. Now, I can't imagine ever having to go through such a difficult time and have to make the heart-wrenching decisions like those we just had to make, without them all, but most of all, Dr. Ada and Dylan. They are the best!

I'm so grateful. The best experience I've had with a veterinary office of any kind. The staff is amazing. Incredibly friendly. Cared more about my dog than over charging for needed elements of care than people can not generally afford during financial hardship or not. Less than 24 hours after appointment I received a text with lab results which explained her symptoms. Her medication for the condition was available for pick up the next day. AND then...... spring of 2022 my girl was having symptoms that were highly concerning me. I kept calling them to get her an appointment & they kept blowing me off. Well she was VERY VERY SICK. I was told her blood work was so messed up the vet said she must of ate something toxic. At that point she had kidney failure & to attempt to save her life the first 24 hours would cost about $5000.

I don't know how these guys have anything less than 5 stars. Times have been super hard on me lately due to personal circumstances. These guys have seen and treated my pets MULTIPLE times, without requiring me to pay right away. When I got my service dog, and she needed spay and shots, and microchip, a company who works with these guys paid the whole thing. And these guys did a great job with my dogs surgery. And on top of everything, they are super affordable with their prices. They really care about the animals, and the people. If it wasn't for these guys, my 18 year old dog wouldn't still be here. So thank you guys for everything!

This place saved my kitty's life. Thanks to this vet, my kitty is healthy and happy again 💟😻 I am beyond grateful for this vet!! Thank you staff so much 💖 I took my kitty to a different vet twice because he was meowing/screaming in pain and spent about $1400 on ultrasounds, blood work, urine samples. Both times, I was sent home with a very ill cat, no medication, and no answers for why he was acting the way he was. I was so stressed out. Of course he got sick when I got laid off from my job (thanks covid) so money was tight. I called this vet and they told me to take him to the vet that I had already taken him to twice since it was an emergency vet. I explained to them that I already took him to that vet twice and that I wanted him to be seen by another vet, but I had no money to do so. They were so amazing they told me to come in that day (a few hours later). My kitty was seen by them that day and was given medication for his kitty problem (cat uti). He was back to himself within a few days after taking his medication. I spent about $100 here and I am beyond grateful that there is a low income vet because I don't know what I would have done.
