How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Artemis Animal Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Brought our cat in (Belle) and the staff and good doctor handled her (who is easily stressed) with great care and affection. I highly recommend Artemis Animal Clinic for your pets care

The receptionist kept telling me she was new and kept putting me on hold after she’d ask me simple questions. I was empathetic and said, I understand if your are new .. I asked how long she’d been there and she said for several months. Not as new as she was sounding to be honest. Especially just to set an appointment. She added important questions about my dog and reassured me that they do handle dog heart issues and work closely with a cardiologist. A few days later the same receptionist called saying she had to cancel appointments as after receiving my digs records they decided not to . I thought they worked alongside a cardiologist? My dogs heart issues are super simple according to his current vet . This was handled extremely unprofessional and with no care at all. No stars.

The staff are friendly and accommodating. I had bought a flea and tick medicine.

I went to this vet for about a year. I never met the actual vet - she said the pandemic was the reason for sending assistants to speak to me. Finally, my dog's ear was in a lot of pain and, before they even looked at him, said they would have to anesthetize him to take out a foxtail which they thought might be in there. They showed me the foxtail but the next day, his ear was just as bad. I applied ear medicine from another vet and the problem cleared up. I suspect they keep a little store of foxtails. They don't actually care about my dog, just my wallet. I recommend going elsewhere.

I had been going to a different vet in town for a few years, but when my dog had a serious anxiety problem going on and it appeared some medical issue, the vet would not see me. I explained what was going on and they would not make even the slightest time to see my dog. I got a same day appointment with this vet and she was very caring and thorough. She listened well and observed my dog and noticed a heart condition. After seeing a specialist they remarked that my new vet was very good for noticing the heart problem even with just a stethoscope. This is a small office with one vet and one receptionist and I prefer that.
