How to Save on Veterinary Costs at High Valley Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I love this vet clinic so much I literally travel from downtown San Diego to ensure my pets’ care. Thank you to Josie, the front office staff, and Dr. Serby for taking care of my sweet Diego and updated shots for Hugo. The staff is always so sweet and accommodating and you can tell they really love their jobs and your fur babies. Dr. Serby even called me after hours to ensure Diego’s procedure was moving along in the right direction. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Great experience here. Only two issues I've had was longer wait times during COVID protocols, and some issues with refilling my dogs medication when Costco told me that my vet declined the refill since my dog was no longer a patient. Time resolved the first issue and a quick phone call resolved the second issue

Wonderful experience... I was nervous as I have a large cat (21lbs) with sharp claws who does not get out of our house much. The procedures were simple upon arrival. All staff were helpful and understanding. The doctor was professional and gave us options. Payment was simple and much less than I had anticipated. Big thanks all around, we will be back for future visits.

My first experience here was to say good-bye to my 15 year old Lab. They were phenomenal. Supportive and caring, I can't say that they could have done anything better. I'm switching vets. They were really great, and I highly recommend them.

Dr. Gilbert is amazing. He got my dog in who needed urgent care in very quickly and scheduled for surgery in a timely manner. He was very kind and loving to my sweet dog and fully explained everything along the way. 10/10 amazing. The office does get busy like any vet and sometimes you will wait on hold for a while if you call. But when it's your pets turn they are 100% all attention on them
