10 stars service Hey Google Is there any option to give East Bay SPCA Oakland more than 5 stars for their services? My boy Hachi The Siberian Husky got neutered today and it was an emotional and panic moment as a fur parent. I booked the appointment well in advance (2 months ago) and in constant touch with the staff members. I made multiple calls to do all the checkin requirements over the phone and got all the necessary answers. The reason was choosing SPCA came at the last moment when My Vet gave me a quote of $900 for neutering and it was way too much. I decided to enquire more about the low cost clinics and thanks to Google Reviews and local dog’s group gave me lot of positive feedback. Start to end process Hachi is close to 52 pounds and we were told to checkin at 7:15 am. We reached little late and there was a huge checkin queue. We completed all the paper work and after 20 mins assistant came with the leash, took Hachi and asked us to wait so that doc can give us a call for surgery approval. They do some pre- examination prior to the surgery. Once we got the call from the doctor we were told to come back at 3:30pm for pickup. We were anxious 😥 but the staff were so helpful. They gave us a call to let us know that surgery is done and we can pick him up. Seeing hachi we were so relieved. Though we took two surgery cones with us but because of the sizing issue we had to purchase XL size from the clinic for $16. Overall the surgery went well. We were also provided pain relief tablets and all the instructions given to us by the assistant. The total surgery costed us close to 227 which was not at all bad if you compare with $900. SPCA needs more funding so that they can operate well. Private clinics are way too expensive. I will be coming back again for Hachi’s shots and medications. A very happy Mommy

I took my two little Bichon Frise to here. One for Neutering one for spaying. Both went very well. Check in and check outs are very efficient, staffs are friendly and from what I can see, the stitches are done nicely. They also have a much lower price than any for-profit vets in the entire Bay Area. Around $290 each.

I would love to say thank you to the veterinarians, vet techs, and staff of spca for helping with my dachshunds neutering you guys were very compassionate and made the process of checking in and out a breeze. I know with Covid restrictions and staff shortages that it can be difficult but you guys handled everything well and have excellent service. I would definitely come back for my pet services and of course recommend to friends and family 10/10.

They were very organized and great with the animals. The place was clean and plenty of parking. The only problem I had was they forgot to put on the flea treatment I payed for. I asked him when my dog was brought out and he said no but then took him back and put it on her. So far I'm pleased with them. I had a cat spayed there years ago with no problems. I highly recommend.

The staff was super friendly and made me feel like my kitty was in great hands. He was well taken care of and came home happy and healthy even after being neutered. Thank you SPCA for helping keep the pet population under control.
