How to Save Money at Kinder 4 Rescue Low Cost Pet Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Update on my baby! This place told me he'd die if I didn't give them almost $3000 dollars for a surgery he "needed". They treated me and my cat horribly. I took my baby to a real vet who informed me he didn't even need surgery and he was gonna be ok with medication and a diet change. It's been 3 months. Hey Laurel, Blue is alive and thriving no thanks to you or your disgusting staff 😊 (anyone looking for care for their cat, contact the Sam Simon foundation. They do some surgeries/procedures for free for low income families 😌)

Don't believe this place, I took my fur for mass removal and that rude lady also told me my fur needs a dip teeth cleaning, I also asked what is the teeth has to do with mass removal ? She said it will cost less. I cared about her mass removal which was more urgent. They truly don't care about your pets health, they are desperate for money also gives different prices to people. I end up paying $1000 for surgery and there was another lady that her kitty needs surgery and they were charging $3000 but end up paying $600. They are so ridiculous BE AWARE DON'T TRUST THIS PLACE

My kitten fell 4 stories out the window and I brought my cat here for surgery. The office manager was rude and called me a little girl for no reason. Besides her attitude, the whole experience was neutral. This place is only worth it for the price and for you to get your fur baby taken care of. If there was a different place with better customer I would head there in a heartbeat.

Be careful this lady wanted to do a procedure that my dog didn't even need she was rude to me and was criticizing how I take care of my dog I went in there for my dogs eye and she ended up saying my dogs jaw is broken then when I asked her how she's like "in not a dentist" then when I asked her to explain she got up towards the door and said "be gone." They are money hungry promoting surguires that aren't required which are so much money that we don't have. While we were there, their was a dog in there to get a procedure and they addressed the owners as "you're the one with no money" the dog had an allergic reaction to the anesthesia and died but then they got his heart going on an oxygen machine and told them he had to get transported and tried to make them sign off the dog to them. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Absolute great experience with the team at K4R - My dog had pancreatitis that was unfortunately diagnosed and treated too late due to a number of reasons but Kinder4Rescue is the only reason I even got to know what was wrong with her in the first place. When I brought my fur baby into the clinic, they were able to provide me a diagnosis quickly and immediately provided care for her. Had I known about this place before she passed, she would’ve gotten treated way sooner for her ailments and would probably still be with us now, but that is why I now I recommend everyone I know to give them a call first so no one else has to through what I’ve been through because they truly know what they’re doing. And may I say, at a fair price point in comparison to other vets, especially emergency vets. Thank you Kinder4Rescue !! I will always be thankful for your team! 🙏🏼
