How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Calaveras Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I am very pleased with Calaveras Veterinary Clinic! The front desk staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about animals. I felt welcomed and the wait time was less then 15 min before the Dr came in and checked my kitten Percy. The doctor immediately knew what was wrong with my kitten and prescribed antibiotics for him. Before I came to Calaveras another clinic couldn’t figure out what was wrong with Percy, they were taking my money and giving me the run around. The prices are very affordable and now I have a happy kitten! Thank you all

Since the Practice was sold a couple of years ago, I don't feel that my pet is loved here any more. We miss a Vet (Dr. Anderson) who acted like everyone's pet was his too. Dr. Anderson truly cared about the pet and the pet owner's pocket book. This new Vet is not friendly, never looks me in the eye and doesn't talk or show any affection to my dog.

Took my 6 week old kitten here for an eye infection (it was swollen and I was looking for any vet that could take her in asap). They constantly took her to “the back” to do all the procedures, my mom and I heard her cry constantly. The vet opened my kittens eyes so harshly and spoke so fast that I didn’t even know if anything else happened that could've caused her eye infection. I’m pretty sure they hurt her eye while they cleaned it in the back because she developed a corneal ulcer in the eye she so happened to have swelling. They did some blood tests and what not and the lady who brought my kitten back was holding her by the nape like she was a pest and nonchalantly said “she bit me”. The only person who was sweet to my baby was the lady at the front desk who weighed her. Literally PLEASE visit any other vet, even if it’s expensive. I wish I could’ve done more research and taken her elsewhere. Photos added: first photo you can see her eye looks fine, a little puffy but fine. Second photo is the corneal ulcer that developed after (and while) on treatment (which was very expensive).

This is a great pet clinic. The veterinarian and personnel are compassionate and professional. The prices are reasonable. The doctor doesn’t push the extra services on meds for his gain, he is more interested in providing you with a lot of options and solid care for your pets.

Most trusted friendly and safe veterinary clinic in the Bay area. I bring my cat here and he's never had a problem I know the folks there even held him and pet him after his surgery. He came home and was relaxed and happy and better by the next day. Thank you so much calaveras veterinary clinic for helping my cat and my family with our medical needs for our pets.
