How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Vermont Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Please do not bring your dog here. Came for a routine spay and never saw my baby again. Dropped my 1 year old, healthy, happy baby off for her spay appointment then got a call 2 hours later letting me know that her heart suddenly stopped during recovery and that she had passed away. Rushed to the vet to see my baby and see her little body stiff and cold and the only explanation I get from Dr. Hyung Jun An is “I don’t know what happened.” I so much regret bringing my baby here and hope no other pet parent has to go through this.

To: Julie Coronado I don’t know whether you will ever read this, but reading your devastating story made me break down in tears. The unbearable pain and grief I went through two years ago came flooding back, and it feels impossible to breathe. I know exactly how heartbroken you are. I know how deep and crushing this pain is. My dog also died at this hospital two years ago during a neutering surgery. She never woke up. I was told she died just 45 minutes after I left her there. I ran back screaming and crying like I had lost my mind. When I saw her, her mouth was tied with a green string, and her body was already lifeless and collapsed. The veterinarian simply said, “We don’t know the reason.” That was it. No explanation. No responsibility. They then casually told me I could just leave my dead dog there and they would handle the cremation, as if her life meant nothing. Julie, how can anyone possibly comfort you? Seeing the photos of your beautiful girl tears my heart apart. She was so precious, so full of life. There are already reviews here saying that pets have died during neutering surgeries or treatments at this hospital. If I had read those reviews beforehand, could I have avoided this lifelong trauma? I am furious. I am devastated. And even after two years, I am still trapped in the pain and horror of that day. This hospital should never be allowed to perform surgeries. What happened to your sweet girl and to my dog should never happen to anyone else.

This clinic is not reliable. I took my French bulldog to do tests since she was pregnant, they told me that only 2 to 3 puppies were coming, they would do cesarean section. They recommended me another place. I went and my dog had 6 puppies.

If you have an emergency and need to act quickly to save your pet, stay away from this place. My dog had eaten rice in the plastic and sugar on the 24th, which was what I believed to be the first thing, and then she started vomiting the next day. I took her to my veterinarian first, and the problem persisted, so I started from there. He recommended an x-ray and a blood test. He said everything was normal and that it was just gas. He prescribed a medicine that stopped the vomiting and diarrhea. However, my dog was constipated and did not have diarrhea, and the plan of action should have been to remove what she had ingested and not something to contain the feces. Well, trusting the doctor, who I thought was competent, I took my dog home and treated her as recommended, but she continued to be constipated, until one morning she simply defecated only blood from her anus, a significant amount. So I ran to them, before they even opened. He left there saying that he was going to do an endoscopy, and that I should pick her up at 4 pm. I spent the whole day waiting for some news and nothing. But I thought everything was fine. However, when I went to pick up my dog, he said he couldn't do the endoscopy because it was blocked and that I had said she was spayed, but that it didn't seem like she had been spayed, and that was why he couldn't insert the tube, with those exact words. I immediately questioned him: what did the stomach have to do with my dog's uterus???? He said it was confusing and couldn't explain it to me. From then on, with this nonsensical argument, I was afraid he would open my dog up to operate. The first time he said it was gas, which made her situation worse, and the second time he gave this nonsensical justification!!! At that point, my daughter was wasting her time, and I took her home in a worse state than I had left her. I spent the last night in terror with my daughter. The vomiting returned, the defecation was only blood, and she started to faint. Something very wrong happened there. The next morning, on the way to another hospital, my daughter passed away… I believed and trusted this incompetent hospital twice. They don’t have the level of knowledge to deal with emergencies. This couldn’t even be called a hospital. My daughter spent 5 days in agony in pain, and her situation was made worse by a wrong diagnosis and medical negligence.

Dr Lee is an amazing Veterinarian. I had just adopted a pup from the San Bernardino animal shelter and he was terribly sick with Parvo. After getting care from Dr. Lee my pup is strong and healthy. I am very thankful for the kindness, politeness and patience from Dr. Lee!
