How to Save Money at VCA Miller-Robertson Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Terrible place, they took advantage of my vulnerablility because my cat was sick. My cat endured another week of pain because of their incompetency and lack of professionalism. Specifically, when I called and asked Branson, a nurse, he told me that they did have "the special equipment to help your cat." Branson knew that this was something major because I provided him with specific detail information about my cat's current condition. Since, Branson did mention that they didn't do major surgeries. I asked him if he could provide me with recommend places. He made a noise of disapproval and made me feel ashamed and dumb. Branson said, "We should be able to do everything here." I believed him and the hospital kept on sending notifications, so I thought it was legitimate. The day of the appointment, they asked me for the medical records from the other places and the other clinics weren't open yet. I was stressing before I even got there. When, I arrived, I spoke to another nurse and Branson hid. The other nurse told me "no we don't have that special equipment." I went to the parking lot broken hearted because my cat was in pain. After calling many places from the none shaded parking lot, it was late and extremely hot for my cat. I went home and did more research to find a new place. The next day, I went to a new place. I was told by the new clinic that it was too late to help my cat at that point. I had to put my baby to sleep forever because of their lies and manipulation to earn more money for a potential new client at VCA Miller-Robert Animal hospital. They are heartless my baby was only 6 years old. I still cry myself to sleep, missing him, and wondering what if I hadn't been manipulated.

I took my dog here after I got him from a shelter, the front desk people were not very kind. I got stuck behind an accident on my way there and called them to let them know I was going to be a few minutes late and instead of trying to reschedule me the woman I spoke to was rude and said she would see if they could get me in. When I got there the kept referring to my dog as she because he was wearing a pink sweater and harness even though all of his paper work, and very visible genitalia, say he is a male dog. I normally would not mind as he is fairly feminine but this is a vet we are talking about. He is my first dog and I was not told how often he needed flea and tick by the vet who prescribed it meaning he got fleas and when I called and asked the vet for help they said “ well you didn’t pick up his medicine so I’ll call you later and see if we can get some” by the time I heard back I had already gone to a different vet and was given a new prescription and clean direction for dosage and use. And for me the icing on the cake is that they spell my name wrong on all the things they send me! I called to be taken on the mailing list today and they referred to my dog as a girl again.

Dr. Nunez is a warm, compassionate, and an exceptionally skilled veterinarian. Every visit feels less stressful and more reassuring, and I always leave knowing my Marlowe is in the best possible hands.

Honestly just had the best vet experience of my dogs life to date with this place! The entire staff is warm, kind, and welcoming- and helped my dog who is anxious about vets. Doctor Nunez was incredible and was able to successfully give my dog his shots when his last vet visit at a different hospital was unsuccessful and gave up due to his anxieties. This place is incredible and I am so excited to have such an amazing vet now where I feel so confident in the staff and hospital. Two very enthusiastic paws up
