How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VCA Animal Hospitals Urgent Care - Mar Vista

Preventive care

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Came here today, 2026-01-13, and had a really positive experience. My Chihuahua had a broken nail, and the staff here were incredibly friendly and professional. Zero wait on a weekday afternoon. Selene (or Selena?) was very helpful as well as the woman shadowing her. The doctor gave us the examination information and care instructions with exceptional support. I really appreciated their treatment all throughout. Thanks to the team!

I've taken my GSD/husky twice to VCA Urgent Care in the past year or so. The appointment process is a little different than a typical office, in that one accesses a virtual waiting room online in order to submit a cell phone number before receiving an estimate of when to arrive at the office. As far as my experience with the office and all its staff: it was excellent. My dog and I arrived when it opened at 10am and were met by a friendly staffer who showed us to a room. We interacted with about 5 techs, staffers, and Dr. Corlevic during our appt. All were professional and took time to work with my senior (and sometimes ornery) dog. Dr. Corlevic is affable and sincere and made the experience a positive one. I've spent more hours than I can count in hectic, loud, and stressful vet offices, so a calm, organized one like VCA Urgent care was a welcome change!

Sixty 72% cacao dark chocolate covered COFFEE beans retrieved from induced-lunch-recovery later 🤢, and my dog is thankfully back home and on the mend. The urgent care team was so great right from the moment I put my info into the online queue, with the tech giving me instructions over the phone to make sure I got through to poison control, and then moving their schedule around to make sure they were able to see my dog and take care of him. I’m new in town and took a chance with this place in a stressful situation, and they were so kind and professional and smart and human and most importantly - GREAT at their medical jobs. And the physical place is really first-class too. 10/10.

I’ve had to bring my dogs here a few times and I am always so impressed by their compassionate care. They don’t make you feel like you are at a large corporate vet, they listen and have empathy. I truly love VCA!

We brought our puppy in who had been having diarrhea for several days. A couple days after VCA tested him and didn’t find any real cause, the vet offered no solution other than “keep doing what we are doing.” Clearly that isn’t working if we are bringing our pet in for treatment. No medication suggested, no recommendation of further action. It was recommended to see our primary vet ONLY after we called back and insisted there must be more to the answer. What kind of healthcare professional sees a patient having diarrhea for an entire week and has no real suggestions? An unqualified one. We luckily got an appointment with our primary vet and they gave us a medication that helped right away and offered possible causes.
