How to Save on Veterinary Costs at BluePearl Pet Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Update: My second visit was due to my cat needing urgent care. We have no idea what happened to her, her symptoms worsened throughout the day and she had to be euthanized that same day. They ran blood tests for her and could not explain why she had such a low blood count. I have accepted that not every tragedy will have a clear reason or answer. We were really shocked by her loss. However, I do find comfort in knowing that the team here did everything they could and they gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. They didn’t try to offer services for the sake of making money, they were honest and realistic about her outcome and I appreciate that because people easily spend so much money trying to save their fur baby, understandably. I appreciate their consistency and the fact that they will take in the most serious cases before others that may be waiting. I know it could be frustrating to wait a long time but if you are blessed to have a fur baby that is not in serious condition then I would gladly let others who are holding their dying fur companion go first. I respect them for that but I’m sure a lot of people want to be helped first, but I think that’s where we as customers should be more patient about. They really do their best and I am so grateful for them and even their prompt updates on cremation, etc. I hope I never have to come here again but if my fur companions need urgent care, this is definitely the only place I’ll go to. First review: Taking a beloved fur baby into the ER is dreadful. The pricing, the thought of your baby not getting through a critical circumstance. I brought my boy here around 4am after going to another ER that said they didn’t have a Vet available. My boy was dying and I was so relieved that they were able to take him swiftly. I appreciate that they took him so quickly, since there was someone else there but realistically, it seems that they prioritize based on the condition of the animal so please be thoughtful of those being seen before you, their baby may be dying. From start to finish they were compassionate and patient. I tried not to blame them for anything as they were doing their best under the condition he was in. The receptionist was kind and assured me they would not charge me for anything unless I agreed. They were very transparent with their prices. Of course healthcare is expensive, especially with dogs not having insurance. They were doing their best and explained the plan and pricing to stabilize him. It would take days to stabilize him so we made the hard decision of letting him go in peace. They gave us time to think about it, gave me time to hold him and allowed me to be in the room and hold him during and after the process. It was really hard but they were so kind and helped me pick a package for his cremation, etc. The cremation is a third party but they did well to keep in contact with me. I think during these hard moments everything could be so delicate and we can be so defensive so I made sure to be patient too. I would definitely come here again, although, of course, it is the last place I would want to be.

Dr. Cindy Barnes saved my fur baby! The staff was beyond amazing, from front to back support. I waited in the packing lot during the surgery and staff offered me water and asked me if I would like to wait inside, they even offered me a blanket. They were all empathetic and considerate.

I came in today, on a Sunday, after my sweet cocker spaniel had lost the use of his back legs. I knew it was time for him to go and I couldn't wait for his regular vet. When we arrived they were able to get us in within an hour. They were kind and caring, allowed us to say goodbye. I'm grateful they were open and recommend them in case of any emergency.

Absolutely the best and most compassionate staff I have ever encountered, I took my dog in for euthanasia, he was suffering from colon cancer. The staff was so kind and accommodated me and my big family to be with him in his last moments. They treated him with care and even sent us a condolences card. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us and Orion.

You need to tell your receptionist to shut her mouth and not give veterinary advice. She refused to let my dog be seen as she said she needed an X-ray due to a bite on the head. My dog had already been to my regular vet and I wasn’t able to get her back in to be seen. I made an appointment with another veterinary office for the next day and wanted something for the pain. After receiving a scolding I left and went to Fresno Veterinary Speciality and Emergency Center. I was welcomed and received outstanding care for my dog…and guess what no X-ray was needed. Whoever is in charge of staff at this facility better make sure to check with the real veterinarian before she gives advice
