How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Ellis Park Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

This review is strictly based on the lady that answered the phone..... first of all she sounded like she had just woken up (I called at 10:30am). I was calling around to find prices and information about declawing kittens (which is a heated topic, I am aware... but when it comes to kittens scratching up my daughter.... I'm declawing in the most humane way possible..) anyways. The lady that answered was short with me to begin with. As soon as I brought up declawing she became even worse. Then I started asking questions and she said...."so am I filling out a survey here?!"... I informed her that I was trying to find the absolute best care for my kittens even through this painful procedure I wanted to know everything so I could be better prepared to take care of them when they got home. She proceeded to tell me that "Doc" does that procedure... even though she strongly disagrees with it and that "Doc" wasn't in.. otherwise she'd have me talk to him. I know I shouldn't base my review of the entire practice based on this sullen unhelpful woman... but still... if she honestly felt so strongly about this, why work there??! No customer service at all.....

Dr Tapper is absolutely the best vet around. I was sorry to hear he is retiring when I look the dogs in recently. I hope the new vet is like him.
