How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Vetco

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Choosing a veterinarian is an important decision for pet parents. A strong vet relationship is built on trust, communication, and understanding your pet’s individual needs.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

Facility Tour

If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.

I love Dr. Elliott and her techs. But the Saturday team must be the B team. Called 3 times to confirm picking up meds for my pet's UTI, which I was informed the Friday before. I let the vet know Friday I will be in Saturday for the meds. Called two times that morning that I would be there and then received a text confirming the time to come in. I get there no one is at the front desk. Press the button, wait five minutes and someone comes out. I let them know what and my pets name. They take 10 minutes and come back and said they are all out of meds and I would need to fill it at Costco. I was upset and asked why I was not told this when I confirmed. Anyway I let them know I would take the prescription and 10.minutes later he comes back out and says the doctor can not write a prescription because this dea number does not match. I did lose it here. they did not have any solution and I did yell. I regret that but 3 calls and they like not have told me that? I was told to leave and I scheduled a same day visit at another vet and have to run all the tests again. Pissed to say the least

Extremely rude store manager. I took my dog to our appointment at 10:15. I waited for 45 mins until a lady came in. She touched and played with my dog. She asked if I have any complaints and I said no. Afterwards the lady came in with a almost $300 quote with the shots for my dog. I was already upset from the long wait. I refused the service. Then the store manager came and told me even I don’t want anything I need to pay$70 for the visit, even the lady just came in for 3 mins. It’s ridiculous and I am very upset. The manager was extremely rude.

Terrible staff, no knowledge at all. Follow up skills are unreal when they need you to confirm your first FULL name, and a shortened named won't do. Also, they told me they aren't a full service vet so I just to take a stool sample to another one down the street. Then I get told whoever I spoke to was wrong. Just don't bring your pet here unless you love being frustrated . Updated, since they changed their business name I'm adding the other review too...Called for a vaccine appt 3 days later, got confirmation call the next day, then got confirmation texts; they have overconfirmed a vaccine appt to the Nth degree. Worst part is this - on the first call for confirmation they ask every possible question, just to confirm the appointment. When I gave my full first name, apparently I couldn't be found in the appointment bc it is my shortened first name. I told the person after 5 minutes "I'll just create a new appt or profile bc how is it missing".. It wasn't. Why does my vaccine appt need my EXACT first name just to confirm? Ridiculous

I brought in both of my pups for the whole package nail trim and all her shots. Also my other dog for all his shots too. For both dogs shots and nail trims was only 194.00 the people who work here are so nice and caring. I'm glad they opened this location up, I'll be heading back when they start doing dental cleaning to get my little Tarzan officially all good to go! Thank you so much for taking great care of Lady and Han 💖
