How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VCA Bonita Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

my kimber passed away in march due to thyroid cancer. he had gotten diagnosed and had an appointment set with his normal vet to cross the rainbow bridge. 2 days before his appointment he had gotten worse and we had to call around to take him as an emergency. all the vets around us were either closed or closing. it was around 6:30pm when i called and they were closing at 7pm. they still took him in even though they were closing soon. this hospital went above and beyond with their care and all of their staff were amazing. we stayed past closing and i want to say thank you to the staff for giving us that time to say goodbye to our keemer. he was our family and it was the hardest decision ive ever had to make but having this nice comfortable environment to bring him made the process a little easier. thank you VCA Bonita staff for taking care of my baby and helping us through the process! I highly recommend bringing your pets here.

Best dog ever! My best friend! She's now keeping her master company. Until we meet again, my Fang! I miss you so much. I'll never forget how you truly are a gem! This hospital walked me though the whole process of a more humane way of releasing Fang from more pain and suffering. For this, I thank them.

Great! More affordable than a few other places I checked around my area. They were very nice and took great care of my kitty and also my dog. They went over findings after exam and got an approval by me before doing anything. This way there were no surprise charges. I loved that. Highly recommend.

First called VCA Bonita June 25, 2020 and they would not give my senior shelter rescue dog a first exam until July 17, 2020. This is after the 2 wk free initial exam agreement between VCA and The Humane Society expires. I did tell Veterinary Staff that my little Roberto has kennel cough and is in severe pain from dental disease.

I called VCA Bonita Animal hospital this morning and spoke with Jenny. I am frustrated with this location because while they give good services, I rarely can get an appointment when my dog is actually in need of veterinary services that are not emergent, but also not necessarily routine. I basically have to wait until my dog is in an emergent state, and go to an emergency hospital. What is the point of having a membership if you can rarely get your dog seen? I want my money back for all the months that I pay for a membership and then get turned away when my dog needs help. Sorry, our staff is limited actually doesn't suffice. If you are okay with your dog only being seen if you make an appointment 2 to 3 weeks out, then VCA would be perfect for you.
