How to Save on Veterinary Costs at South Bay Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

2nd review--brought our new kitty, vets and reception were both super informative and kind, our kitty is doing very well after surgery. We live in city heights but we have no problem going down to Chula Vista to South Bay because they give you the best possible veteranary care, plus fantastic customer service. Prices are upfront. Everyone there is amazing at their jobs--keep up the good work!

Staff and doctor were very knowledgeable, polite and caring. I give them 5 stars. I had an appointment 1 and had to wait approximately additional 40 minutes before seeing doctor. Maybe I was just impatient? I will be returning and recommend. Thank you

I regret bringing my pet here. The veterinarian treated him incorrectly by prescribing a medicine that made his condition significantly worse. I took him to a veterinary hospital and the staff there recommended I no longer take my dog to this vet. He currently has a tube out of his neck because of said medicine. I understand it was due to the lack of knowledge, but incredibly disappointing for a veterinarian I trusted to take care of my beloved dog to make such a grave mistake. If I could give Zero stars I would and I hope no one else has to deal with the situation I am in right now. DO NOT bring your dog here I never will again. along with this, the veterinarian was not comforting and when asked to speak with her after my pets condition grew worse, I was given a staff member to speak to who was very obviously not trained to answer my questions. Once again I do NOT recommend this vet

This vet always manages to fit any of my clients pets in at the very last moment. They're always fast and kind and professional and I don't think they overcharge. They are our emergency go-to vet for Beloved Pet Sitting.

This place is amazing! Clean and pet equipped lobby. Friendly to all and BEAUTIFUL women at the helm. Second to none in service and know how about your pet and you. My vicious Malinois has them #1. Words of the day: So... if my dog bothers you, I'd be glad to lock you up in the other room:)
