How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Animal Surgical Group

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Terrible experience. My senior dog severely broke his leg. The doctor was making inappropriate, sexual jokes at the first visit. As the healing process went on, my dog off set his bone a couple of times. When I returned to get it reset, I could hear the doctor yelling (literally yelling )to his assistant on how much I do not care about my dog. Which is ridiculous, obviously. This dog and I have been together for 14 years and he is extremely athletic and healthy. I then started going to my regular vet. Which was wonderful! My doctor did not understand why animal surgery group did not offer a surgery for faster healing. As well as they prescribed my dog tranquilizers as a sedation instead of the modern medicine. After switching vets, my dog healed up within weeks. I could not believe how unprofessional the doctor was at, animal surgery group.

I hope Dr. Sikes and his wonderful staff remember our sweet (ish) kitty... Tulip has made a miraculous recovery and is currently swishing her tail in my face. This was at least 3 years ago but we talk all the time about how our sour patch cat wouldn't be here today if it weren't for those miracle workers! Thank you ALL!!!

My cat was injured and my local vet recommended Dr Sikes. She's a very feisty cat and he worked with us very well. She's like a completely different animal, free of pain and now I can't keep her off the counters and sprinting around the house at 3 AM thanks Dr Sikes! from me and peaches!

My foster was seen by my regular vet for an injured leg. My vet said the injury was beyond his expertise and referred me to Dr. Sikes. He is highly praised by many yet he was humble enough to consult with professional colleagues to determine the first course of treatment. I was very impressed. After deciding what to do he performed the surgery. He IS very personable and we have a lot of conversation to the point of confusing dates and times for follow up appointments and aftercare but we figure it all out.

My dog was hit by a car and received instant medical care by my vet. Unfortunately she did not improve. My vet recommended Dr. Sikes. As I was leaving the office several of the staff members spoke highly of him. Dr. Sikes is extremely personable, straight forward and kind. My dog was terrified and he was able to calm her and work with her. Due to his experience and knowledge he was able to locate her problem and diagnosis it. He is able to offer updated care and medical treatment. He understands that you cannot always afford the procedure that is needed for your pet but still gives you a 100% of his time and attention while you are there.
