How to Save Money at ARISE Veterinary Center

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We called at 915pm on a Thursday our 14yr old dog collapsed. She was awake, but not doing well. Our primary vet recommended Arise for emergency, our first time utilizing them. I called as we were on our way, and advised we were expecting to put her down. They were on top of it, so super kind. They even called me back though I didn't provide my number so they could get a gurney ready and ask our ETA. Once there, they took our pup back, made her comfortable right away. They put us in a room right away. Brought our sweet pup in to spend time with her. The doc came in and advised she did have a mass on her spleen, which I believe is cancer. I'm thinking it was leaking or burst with the symptoms she had. The doctor was honest about our options and quality of life. The room was quiet and relaxing. We said our goodbyes. Staff was wonderful. Price obviously more than what we've spent at our primary vet, but this was emergency after hours, and I didn't feel was outrageous. 1 week later we picked up her paw print they made us. It was beautifully packaged with care, boxed and in a gift bag. I'd recommend this office for anyone needing emergency assistance with their pet. Thank you to the staff for being so caring.

Arise Vet in Queen Creek, AZ is a very special place for us. We brought our very sick 10 year old miniature schnauzer Sally to Dr Todd Carter after several vets at an ER hospital couldn’t figure out what to do with her. She had seizures out of the blue, several in 3 hours. The ER kept her alive but her calcium level continued to plummet. We were referred to Dr Carter at Arise Vet. He knew right away there were only two possible diagnoses and the first one likely wasn’t a possibility. He began aggressively treating her as we waited for the results. By the time we got the results she has an extremely rare disease she had already greatly improved. Dr. Carter saved her life! My husband and I are so impressed with his knowledge and drive to diagnose the problem. We met his nurse Paige on our first visit. We were so impressed by her and her knowledge that we wondered wow, can you imagine how good Dr. Carter must be? And last but not least I want to mention Quincy. She is at the front desk, makes the appointments, and basically spreads happiness to anyone she speaks with. Arise Vet is so fortunate to have her as a member of the team. I always look forward to hearing her sweet upbeat voice! There is no other choice if you need an internal medicine doctor for your pet. We are so blessed that we found one of the best! Thank you so much Dr. Carter for saving Sally and giving her many more years. Bless you and your team. David & Debbie Hall

It was my first time visit to arise, and I have to tell you! I was pleasantly surprised at the phone, customer service, and caring hearts of those speaking to me on the phone and quickly having me come in. When I arrived, two nurses met me at the door too quickly take my elderly cat in and find out exactly what her needs are before taking her off my hands and taking her in and guiding me where to go while I wait. The environment was completely sanitary, smelled great!!!! it was so clean, it actually looked like a human emergency room/hospital! The doctor, nurse, front desk people were all so caring and kind, and very, very helpful! I would recommend them to everyone who loves and cares about their pet and wants the best care for them!!!!!♥️

I brought my 5 month old Eurasier puppy in to the clinic last evening and I was totally blown away by the kindness and warmth of everyone in the reception area. I was to fill out info about my dog and why I brought him in and I got an I-pad to do it on. I’m not very good with technology so one of the staff members volunteered to help me. She was so sweet and kind, and made sure I got any help I needed. The young gentleman who came to do Erik’s vitals was also amazing. Erik had to spend the night after X- rays showed something was up with his intestinal tract. I went home had a call from the vet around 11pm who explained everything and why they felt it would be best to keep Erik for the night so he could have an I.V. and could be monitored. At 6:30 am this morning I received another call from the vet that the X-rays showed whatever it was they had seen before was now gone and I could pick Erik up. I would come back to ARISE in a heartbeat should I need them . They were the most caring, kind staff I have ever encountered. Thank you for all you did, Erik is now home fast asleep after lasts nights “party”

I'm so incredibly thankful for this facility conveniently located 3 minutes away from me! ARISE in Queen Creek is so clean, everyone is so friendly and Wendell Julian is thankful for Dr. G! That's G for Gunasekaran...Wendell has a heart murmur and Dr. G took really great care of Wendell. He also took the time to draw a diagram of Wendell's heart and explained what's going on. We'll be visiting and seeing Dr. G again in April of 2024. Quincie was great too! Highly recommend taking your beloved furchildren here!
