How to Save Money at Casa Grande Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

UPDATE: Three additional visits including my older dog’s annual exam and the pup’s additional vaccinations with Dr. John were excellent. Most recently, the pup was neutered and the tech was outstanding, very thorough providing a lot of information and answered my many questions. Post surgery care instructions were very good and in writing. Dropped the pup off around 7:45 am and was called for pick up at 4:45 pm. PRIOR: Had an outstanding appointment at the Casa Grande Animal Hospital with our new puppy. Arrived a few minutes early since we were a new client and was promptly in the room at the appointment time. The staff at reception were very nice and professional and the vet tech, Brandon, was personable and and kind to my pup. Dr. John was very thorough as he spoke through his examination findings and then answered the questions I had and provided helpful information on care and prevention. Check out was quick and easy and have already booked his next appointment as well as my older dogs annual exam.

We’ve been to a good handful of vets over the past few years and none have compared to Casa Grande Animal hospital! We initially brought our dog down from Chandler because we couldn’t get an appointment anywhere else, but we’ll be sticking around. It’s absolutely worth the drive. After a few visits, CGAH has proven to be highly competent and incredibly caring. We always feel welcomed and all of the staff took time to listen and genuinely took an interest in my dogs health. I wish my own doc would spend as much time with me! I never review places, but I needed to acknowledge the exceptional care we received. Thank you!

The Nurses and Dr. Were very professional and helped me so much with deciding to put our 13 year old beagle to sleep. The Dr. Was fantastic with his bedside manner and was compassionate and knowledgeable about canines. He had never seen our Bella before and was able to pick up on a few medical diagnosis she had that led us to make a humane decision. I was able to have her lay next to me during her passing which was very comforting. The Dr. Explained what he was going to do before he did it. I would highly reccomend this veterinarian practice! Two thumbs up for the staff. Oh, I forgot to mention that I was told a different amount for services before coming and only brought that much money. The office manager worked with me and allowed me to pay the rest of the money when we pick up her ashes a week later. Most offices wouldnt do that. Very happy. They also got me in the same day I called which was important to us because once we determined that we thought our dog was in too much pain, we didn't want to wait for an appointment for the next week. Hope this review is helpful.

My little kitten Chip had a emergency medical condition after ingesting some carpet fibers from the cat tree that was inside the house. I lost him twice due to choking and not breathing but we where able to bring him back. I took chip to the first animal hospital that came up on my navigation. When I arrived the staff there did not hesitate to jump onto action to help little Chip. Chip was immediately rushed into the back where the doctors and staff did an outstanding job. The staff and doctors kept in touch with me every step of the way. They went over every detail with every decision I would have to make with Chips care. Because of the caring staff at Casa Grande Animal Hospital Chip is alive and acting like nothing had ever happened. I have since switched all of my animals over to Casa Grande Animal Hospital for all of their care. Words can not express how thankful I am with this facility. Jesse Ryan and Chip

I just wrote a really long review that didn't post, so let me try this again. This veterinary clinic is fantastic. I love my dog, Rusty, more than anything in the world and she's been sick. She's an established patient and I've been happy with her care. When I brought her in sick, twice on Saturdays (7/8/23 & 7/22/23) I saw this facility's excellence. Dr. Fallini, who treated Rusty for what we now know is pneumonia, is exceptional. Her experience and talent as a physician were immediately obvious; something that is a relief to an animal's human. Rusty didn't care, she just wanted to go home. Dr. Fallini was not only caring with my baby, she was also patient and empathetic toward me. Thank you, Doc F. Going in, I was very worried and was expecting a long and chaotic day. It was the opposite. The staff is quite extraordinary. They handled appointments, emergencies, walk-ins, and numerous other Saturday surprises professionally, efficiently, and with compassion. I especially want to mention Nikki, who was working the front desk. She is one of the kindest people I've ever encountered and she does her job so damn well. This is a clean and well organized facility. They really work as a team and genuinely care about their patients and the humans who drive them around. Thank you. ***I saw a review by Hannah, who I saw there on the 22nd. If you see this, I hope Lilly is doing well.
