How to Save Money at Best Vet

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Experienced vets and a very friendly staff. They even help me with sharing my dogs records though email whenever I call them for those records immediately. They have availability in very regular intervals for an appointment though they a decent crowd. Very organized and professional. Love this place.

Best Vet was a disappointing experience. The pricing felt extremely high for routine care, with little explanation or transparency about what justified the cost. It came across as more focused on upselling than on the actual needs of the animal. On top of that, the staff was unfriendly and dismissive. Asking basic questions felt inconvenient to them, which is not what you want when you’re trusting someone with your pet’s health. Veterinary care is already stressful and expensive. A clinic should at least be compassionate and respectful. Unfortunately, this place was neither, and I won’t be returning.

⭐ 1/5 - Complete Waste of Time - Go Elsewhere I made an appointment specifically to get flight documentation for my pet, scheduled for 1:00 PM. I arrived 15 minutes early to be respectful of their time, but they clearly didn't return the favor. After checking in early, I didn't get placed in an exam room until 1:10 PM. Then I waited. And waited. Nearly an HOUR later, I'm still sitting there while I can hear the vet in the next room casually chatting and flirting with another client and their dog. Meanwhile, I'm just supposed to sit there like a fool waiting for a simple flight form? I finally gave up, left, and called another vet clinic. They got me in right away, and I walked out with my completed form in under 15 minutes. The new place was also cleaner, newer, and clearly better organized. Bottom line: If you value your time, do NOT go here. This is unacceptable for a scheduled appointment. A simple flight health certificate shouldn't take over an hour when you have an appointment. To the vet doc: Respect people's time. We make appointments for a reason. Your paying customers shouldn't be sitting around for an hour while you socialize.

Our bulldogs LOVE coming here. Dr. Bob is a great vet, he has always been helpful. His approach and genuine caring for our Kids has been wonderful. We rescued a Bulldog three years ago, with more than a few health issues due to neglect, Dr. Bob took a very systematic approach to treating him and the results have been amazing. He truly cares about the animals he treats, and our little man is not a fan of going to the Vet, but he loves going to see Dr. Bob. Thank you Dr. Bob

My wife and I have been taking our dogs here for years. Everyone, from the front desk to the vet techs, is so kind and caring. They know everyone by name. One of dogs has always been scared to go anywhere else, especially when he gets his nails clipped, but when he goes here he is comfortable and relaxed and let's them clip is Nails with no problem at all. And they dont try to over sell and rack up a bill. I can't take my dogs anywhere else ever.
