Can’t say enough about Dr.Shawn. They are always there to do best for my cats. He kept Little One alive for 2 more years than expected. Samantha Cat is now 18 years. Hard yo believe she is still going strong at that age!

Insurance now costing me 3X more!
The claims experience is easy and quick. And I was happy with how much was covered.
However, I would only recommend a friend to Trupanion if the friend was quite wealthy (in which case they probably wouldn't need insurance). That's because the amount you are charging me for insuring my cat has gone from about $36/month up to a whopping $114/month! That's an increase of more than three times.
If you had been honest with me up front about this possibility, I might feel differently. But all your advertising said things like "Your insurance costs won't go up because your cat gets sick. Your insurance costs won't go up because your cat gets older." It was SO misleading. There was no warning that insurance could increase so significantly for other reasons.
Now my cat has stage 4 kidney disease and I can't switch insurance providers because no other company would cover him.

Glad I have pet insurance but not sure this is the right one.
I adopted a puppy about 8 months ago. She’s been extra high maintenance (parasites, heart surgery, several instances of diarrhea). I’ve been grateful for the pet insurance because we’ve already spent thousands of dollars on vet care for this dog. Unfortunately, the process to get reimbursement from healthy paws is frustrating. One minor irritation: you can only take pictures of the invoice to submit a claim on the app. You cannot attached documents or pictures. You have to use the camera to take a picture of a paper invoice. None of my vets use paper invoices; they are all electronic so it would be much more convenient if the app had the capability to upload photos or docs. My main problem with the process, though, is that they make little to no efforts to let you know that your claim is not being processed because they’re missing something. The result of this is that I’ve waited for 10 business days before reaching out to customer service, sometimes several times by email and phone, only to find out that my claim wasn’t being processed. Thus it takes several weeks to get reimbursed. Also, they do not offer pre-authorization so if you are going in for an expensive procedure (heart surgery) and want to be absolutely sure of your terms of coverage, good luck.
