Trupanion pets lead longer happier lives.1 Pets insured with Trupanion lived longer than pets without Trupanion because pet parents didn’t have to worry about the cost of the care their pet needed. Depending on the plan Trupanion covers up to 90% of eligible expenses, has unlimited payouts-always, and can pay your vet bill, within seconds, at time of checkout, so all you pay is your portion (anything not covered by Trupanion). They have transformed the way pet insurance handles claims by eliminating the reimbursement process. Trupanion was founded in Canada and provides bets-in-class coverage and is dedicated to helping pets we love get the care they need. They’ve been around for more than 20 years, making them experts and setting standards for the industry. One perk of this, and what they pride themselves on, is the amount they pay out to pet owners for each claim. Paying out more on the dollar than any other pet insurance provider. To date they have paid out $2 Billion in claims and have insured nearly 1 million pets. To put it simply, there is a reason why 98.7% of Trupanion members stay enrolled every month. 1Based on a December, 2020 Trupanion study analyzing third party hospital claims data comparing pets insured with a Trupanion policy to pets without a Trupanion policy. *Terms and conditions apply. They wont leave you in the dust!

As an RVT, I see lots of pets go untreated, due to cost (more so in these hard times). With all the better pet insurance companies coming out, we have really embraced the idea of pet insurance and have moved full throttle educating our clients. We recently meet the rep for Trupanion, Robert Segura. He came in to talk to the staff about his company. We decided to try it out, as well as there offer of the first month free for our clients. About a week later we had a client come in with a healthy 8 week old puppy. We gave her, Tiny is her name, her first set of vaccines as well as, strongly, encouraged them to start her pet insurance, they signed up the same day. Less then a week later Tiny came back to us sick with Parvo. Immediately we call Robert, being this is our first claim. Robert was very prompt in helping us get started. Come to find out the client did not sign up correctly, and did not have the first month coverage. Robert went above and beyond for us and Trupanion will cover Tiny even though the client did not sign up correctly. As an insurance company this is a great good faith gesture. Most companies look for any way to "get out" of paying anything. We are very pleased to have found Trupanion and highly recommend it to everyone.

I highly recommend Trupanion

Trupanion processes claims extremely quickly. I have been very happy with Trupanion and would recommend it to anyone considering pet insurance. I only wish they would consider covering medicine for pica (when pets eat non-food items, like rubber gloves and electrical cords) because the medications which curtail the behavior are relatively inexpensive compared to the cost of surgery. As a result of the pica, my cat has had two endoscopies and one abdominal surgery. Medications for "behavioral problems" aren't covered, but should be for pica when it can cost thousands of dollars for medical procedures and prevent injury to a pet.

Would Recommend

Got Trupanion's insurance this past Feb. Filed our 1st claim after our dog had an accident playing in our backyard in July. 20 minutes after I faxed the claim form/invoice from the vet hospital I received an e-mail from Trupanion saying they had received info and would begin to process. 2 hours later I got a phone call from the claims office saying they had approved claim and check would go out the next day. I received check 5 days later. All in all, a great experience and everyone was very pleasant.

It works!!!

They always pay!!! Most pet owners get insurance after their pets have been sick or injured believing that next time they will be covered. NOOOTTTTT. My dog was hit by a car and I spent $2K on vet bills. I got insurance and a few months later his hip was showing problems. Cirgury and therapy were over $3K and VPI would not cover because it was "pre-existing". My sister's puppy swalloed a rock and it cost almost $2K to remove it. She got a check on the mail in less than a week for 90% of the cost. Lesson learned. I'm getting Trupanion for my next puppy.

Monthly Cost
