Great Pet Insurance

I love Trupanion. You take a photo of the invoice from the vet and upload on their site-very simple- and they take care of the rest. I just got $2100 back on a $2300 bill. And the money goes directly into my checking account. So worth the reasonable monthly payments.

so pleased that I am insured with trupanion

When I rescued my dog I knew I should purchase insurance. I took the advice of my vet ( I have know for many years and trust) and went with trupanion. I recently had to file a claim. It was handled so quickly. In addition, they added the nicest note for my little dog in their e-mail! Their website is easy to use. I also had reason to call them and found the staff to be helpful and personable. I also feel that their rates are reasonable. It is really important to have insurance and I feel trupanion is a good company to go with.

Claim denial resolved

We got a new German Shepherd puppy and immediately enrolled her in our Trupanion insurance policy within hours of bringing her home. Unfortunately we found out months later that our new girl was born with hip dysplasia and required a total hip replacement. This news was devastating to us but we made a decision to go ahead with the costly surgery under the impression that Trupanion would help to cover the costs. ( as they have always in the past for any eligible claims). Our surgeon sent Trupanion the quote for review and pre approval but the claim was denied on the basis of this being a pre existing condition that we were aware of prior to enrollment. This was just simply not the case. This claim denial added a lot of stress to an already difficult situation. After contacting Trupanion and discussing the situation with some very helpful people I was immediately sent a form and instructed to complete and submit it along with any documentation to support our objection to the claim denial. It took some time to gather required medical records, letters etc. but once all information was submitted and reviewed by Trupanion, they reversed their initial decision and rightfully reimbursed us with the eligible amount owing according to our policy. It is understood that insurance companies are subjected to a lot of fraudulent claims and have to scrutinize all claims to protect themselves. They made the right decision to reverse the initial denial in our situation. This is the only issue I have had with Trupanion in 10 years, recommend to enroll your pets with them.

Trupanion is always there for me.

My 10 years old Shih Tzu has lots of health problems from the time he was 1 year old. Knee dislocation which surgery costs was $2500 not including after surgery care costs. He has frequent ears infection, cardiac condition, tracheal collapse, dry eyes. He needs several medications for life to keep his health issues under control. I am so glad that I made the right choice of getting my pet insurance through Trupanion When he was a puppy. Not a day have I regretted making my choice with Trupanion. They truly have taken this financial stresses off my shoulders throughout all these 10 years as we all know how veterinary bills can add up. Trupanion can always be trusted and reliable. They will not find any excuses to delay or denied any genuine claims. My claims took no more than 3-4 days to get reimbursed. Thanks to Trupanion, my “baby “ is able to continue seeking veterinary cares. I can reassure you getting pet insurance never a wrongful decision.

Monthly Cost

Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.

Coverage

Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.

Payout Limits

The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit. That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.

Deductible

If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.

Age Limits

All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting Period

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details. However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
