Saddened by deceitful information
Nall Daniels in Homewood and Pelham Animal Clinic promote this company. It was suggested to me that I should purchase this insurance when I took my black lab "Otis" for what I thought was a wasp sting on his rectum due to excessive licking. He was stung by yellow jackets last year that had an underground nest in my half acre backyard. I was stung probably 10 times getting them off of him. I remedied that situation. This year I haven't encountered a nest, but I've seen wasp. I purchased insurance with Trupanion prior to any results or diagnosis. One of the emails I received from Trupanion stated hat if my Veterinarian refers me they would waive the 30 day waiting period and the 5 day emergency period for coverage. I found out from the veterinarian from Nall Daniels after I purchased one of the most expensive plans that he had adenocarcinoma of the right anal sac gland. Trupanion has rejected my claims. I was told I was required to have applied a code provided by my veterinarian within 24 hours prior to diagnosis to be covered. Trupanion doesn't disclose this anywhere on the plans or on their site. My vet knew nothing about a code. I'm very discouraged with company. I was going to insure my puppy with them, but I feel it's a total scam. I'm going to resubmit the information tomorrow. I'm not confident I'll get honest results.
