I have 3 dogs

I have 3 dogs. My oldest had to have her ACL repair shortly after we purchased the policy with the addition of our Poodle. In a short 6 months, the benefit of the policy was clear! Our lab's surgery would have put us deeply in debt (there was no doubt we would repair it), but Trupanion made that a much more comfortable situation for us. Fast forward two years and our Poodle is experiencing all of the signs of Addison's Disease but not the positive test to confirm Addison's. We have been to three specialists, an emergency vet, and our own vet dozens of times over the last four months since this all started. For the first month, two weeks were spent with his vet receiving fluids by IV, the second visit to the specialist resulted in the insertion of a feeding tube, and all of his food is now prescription food. This doesnt include the never-ending testing to try to figure out what is happening, or the constant medications that he takes. Without Trupanion to help support his medical care, we would be drowning in his medical support and would be facing horrible choices because of the costs. If you have never considered medical coverage for your pets, I strongly suggest you start. And if you are considering coverage and are on the fence about what provider to use, I can't recommend Trupanion strongly enough. The claims process is easy, and the approval process is fast. They have paid the claim before my credit card payment is due over and over again.

Have had Trupanion for years with…

Have had Trupanion for years with multiple dogs . Have always been satisfied . They don't always cover everything but explain why certain things are denied. They also cover things i did not think would be covered. they keep in constant contact and website is easy and streamlined .

Useless Insurance-- Does Not Pay For Anything

i'm done using Trupanion. They do not pay for anything. They do not cover annual exam, vaccines, i don't even know what type of visits and ailments they cost. if my pet has upper respiratory symptoms, they refuse to cover because the first time i brought him in to see a vet, he was sneezing. and they would not cover dental procedure because upon first examination he had tarter in his teeth. then recently I brought him to pet ER for UTI symptoms. I paid $414 and the insurance claim payout from Trupanion was on $13. What an insult. After Tiger's bladder stone surgery I'm going to have to switch insurance.

Monthly Cost

Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.

Coverage

Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.

Payout Limits

The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit. That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.

Deductible

If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.

Age Limits

All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting Period

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details. However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
