Thank you Trupanion!!

One week before Thanksgiving our 2 year old Mastiff became ill. Upon waking Thursday morning she was lethargic and disinterested in eating/going out. I left work early to get her to our vet. Initially they suspected an intestinal blockage per xrays. Upon doing blood work they found her red blood count was down to 9% and she needed an immediate transfusion. We rushed down to the nearest emergency care facility (an hour away) where she was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). She spent the better part of ten days at the facility receiving round the clock care and numerous blood transfusions and expensive immunosuppressants. She finally began to stabilize after 8 days. My wife and I were worried that we were going to have to make the hard choice. Thank goodness we didn't. We submitted a claim of over 10k to Trupanion. They covered everything save for our $100 deductible and a 10% copay. She still has a long way to go, 6-8 month of treatment, and even then there is no guarantee that her disease won't strike again. But we feel confident that if it returns (or if another problem comes up), Trupanion will take care of us. Not only would I recommend them to anyone I know, I will never have another dog that isn't insured by Trupanion.

Saved our Christmas

A few months ago we lost our beloved 13 year old cat Perry. Being a military family, Perry supported me through several tours of duty separations including my husband's deployments to Iraq... so this totally broke our hearts. A couple of months we adopted a beautiful kitten we named Schonau, a sweet boy who really started to ease the pain of losing Perry. The day we returned home from our Thanksgiving trip Schonau started a series of seizures that we have yet to get under control. The pain of losing our greatest little love and the thousands of dollars spent (and we are still paying off) in the process, is only exacerbated by the fear of losing our new little one and the additional thousands of dollars that we have just incurred over the last 3 weeks. With all of this stress, financial expense, and the upcoming holidays we thought we would have to cancel gift giving this year, but I am so glad that I made the investment of insuring Schonau under TruPanion. We are still trying to find the cause of the seizures and trying to save his beautiful life and it was such a relief to know that Trupanion covered 90% of his vet bills. We were worried that we wouldn't be able to afford anymore care for his ailment and we now have the hope that we can continue to support our little Schonau. Because my husband and I had determined that we would forego any gifts this christmas in order to help afford all of these vet bills, Trupanion truly saved our christmas. I am so glad that I signe

AMAZING !!!

Archie tried to eat a bee - it stung him on the inside of his mouth - he started throwing up, and having trouble breathing.Off to the Emergency Clinic for treatment. We submitted the claim by Fax the next morning, we had an immediate response by e-mail from Trupanion and the claim was processed and paid in less than a week. Trupanion staff are helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable. This is our third dog and third insurance company (one per dog !). This is the best yet. Thanks, Trupanion This was the third time we had submitted a claim, and the previous two were handled in the same efficient, professional manner.

Trupanion is the pet insurane to have!!!

Trupanion is incredible. My 4 yr old rottie Marley is an accident waiting to happen. I have spent more money in medical expenses in his 4 years than I did on two other rotties that both lived to be 12 yrs. So I decided that it was time to purchase insurance. After researching various plans I decided on Trupanion. Less than two months after enrolling, Marley tore his ACL and required surgery ($3858). Unbelievabley Trupanion has covered 90% of the cost of this surgery. I cannot say enough good things about this insurance!! I am not someone who usually writes reviews but this company has come through for me. I would highly recommend Trupanion.

Monthly Cost

Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.

Coverage

Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.

Payout Limits

The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit. That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.

Deductible

If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.

Age Limits

All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting Period

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details. However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
