Deep, Deep Gratitude!!!!

In discussing Pet Insurance with friends, I often find they expect too much. Pet Insurance is NOT a non-profit business! However, while making a profit, they also provide by far the absolute best care to pet owners!! Yes, there is a deductible that can sometimes be outside our budgets. But, when one takes on the care of either a feline or canine, that means we will be faced with the cost of meeting their medical needs and those needs will always pop up sooner or later!! The manner in which Trupanion staff are trained to deal with calls from pet owners is fair and highly compassionate! This companies deductibles are also fair!! If I have a complaint, it would be that when we originally signed our two dogs with Trupanions' Core Policy, I was not informed that other Rider options existed. During a conversation with someone else, I inadvertently learned of the Recovery & Complementary Rider. Immediately (yesterday), I signed our two wee souls up and am very glad I did. BUT, what if in the future, one of them are somehow found to have a pre-condition to a treatment they otherwise would have qualified for. At this point in time, I do not believe that would be the case, but what if......? Just by making all new customers aware of ALL options, this worry could have and should have been prevented! Regardless, would I recommend Trupanion above all other Pet Insurers to responsible pet owners? Yes ..... Absolutely!!! With Gratitude, Hollae Larson

Bloat

We had just moved across the state and were trying to unpack and put a house together all while dealing with a female in season and a very stressed out male. I noticed Jovi wasn't acting right and that his stomach was bloating. I rushed him to the closest vet and they preformed emergency surgery. I picked Jovi up later that day and emailed the bill to Trupanion. I had an email within 24hrs stating they received the claim and the money was deposited in my checking account about 24hr after that. I was so easy and no questions asked! Helped make a very stressful situation go much easier and Jovi is doing fine!

They wont cover our claim.

Bought insurance from this company for our kitten as soon as we got him, (8 weeks old). Shots always up to date, neutered, vet exams etc etc. Had him to the vet last week for more shots and exam, and they found that he still has a baby tooth and it needs to be pulled. (He's a year and a half old now). This is something that they list in their policy as being covered under the plan but, Trupanion refuses to cover this as they claim he has never had a dental exam, which is untrue, he has his teeth and mouth looked at everytime he goes to the vet. And he had not had any dental exams, we would not even know about this baby tooth. Very shady company. This battle is not over but I would be very leary about purchasing insurance through this company.Buyer beware!

Monthly Cost

Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.

Coverage

Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.

Payout Limits

The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit. That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.

Deductible

If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.

Age Limits

All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting Period

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details. However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
