Although I have only been using Pumpkin insurance for a month, so far they have been wonderful!

I filed a claim for my dogs first check up after we adopted him, and even though this took place prior to his eligibility date, they did reimburse the allowable amount very quickly. The claim that was denied (which was no surprise, I just submitted it to have his records updated), a representative reached out to me to ensure I understood my EOB and offered to follow up with me if I had any questions. I am very pleased with my selection of pet insurance.

My 6 year old Dane ended up with a bowel obstruction and had to have emergency surgery…

The process for filing a claim was very easy and the company came through wonderfully. I had switched to pumpkin from another insurance just this year for my 3 Great Danes. I found them to be affordable and have very good coverage compared to other insurances. You never want to have to use insurance, but when you do I am grateful I found Pumpkin!!

It only took 2 days while the other took 6 weeks!

Value based on pets age which is a plus. Easy to submit claim. Much quicker in receiving funds back than the other leading pet insurance company.

Monthly Cost

Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.

Deductible

3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
