After lots of research I decided to purchase Pumpkin Pet Insurance for my new puppy…

So far I've had a great experience. I've submitted 2 preventative claims which were processed and paid out to me very quickly. They also do cover your puppies first vet visit even if the visit was prior to you purchasing the coverage just as Pumpkin advertises. I'm very happy with my decision.

Loving Pumpkin so far =)

We switched our dog and cat (yay multi-pet discount!) over to Pumpkin from another insurance that kept raising our deductible beyond what we felt was reasonable. Love that they offer a page where you can compare them against most other pet insurance companies on the market. We switched in January and in March our dog started getting REALLY itchy. It was right when the weather was starting to get warm so we figured we had a flea infestation on our hands. We took him to the vet to get his shots updated and a prescription for Simparica Trio and discovered that he didn't have fleas but rather a sudden onset of severe skin allergies! :( He needed bloodwork, a follow-up appointment, skin cytologies and an expensive prescription. I was super stressed because we had only been with Pumpkin for 2-3 months at this point and thought they might find a reason to deny the claim. They did not! =) Within a week we had a direct deposit from them. We have two other pets on Bivvy because it is only $11 a month. However they only pay 50% and do not have direct deposit payments, so we are considering switching them over to Pumpkin. I have mobile banking so direct deposit was a real selling point for me as cashing a check takes forever. Excited to move forward with Pumpkin and I recommend them to everyone I know that is looking for high coverage for their pet.

I was skeptical when reading all the benefits and that I could use any vet….

The key is you pay up front and get reimbursed. I signed up and I have a new puppy. I submitted her vet visit with her vaccines and I had the money back within 3 days. I was very pleased and will definitely keep her insurance updated with Pumpkin. Very happy.

Our pup came down with kennel cough shortly after we purchased insurance.

We were able to file our claim online in minutes and we appreciated the fast claim response.it gives us a lot of piece of mind.

Really excited to have Pumpkin on our side.

I was very hesitant to entrust our puppy boy to a company who has not been here that long compare to other insurance companies on the market. But! I am glad I have done it. Super responsive, quick on claim process and very easy to understand the whole insurance process!

Monthly Cost

Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.

Deductible

3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
