I have had my two English Setters…

I have had my two English Setters insured via Pumpkin since 2022. Aside from one period back in 2023 when payment of a claim took several weeks, all other claims were paid within just a few days. A couple within just two days. Additionally Pumpkin has expanded services and coverage each year. They have terrific telephone support which is very rare these days. One of my dogs is on allergy medication permanently and Pumpkin has been great about it. The premium prices have only increased $2 at renewal each year. I am happy with their services. Knock on wood that we don't need their services very often.

Monthly Cost

Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.

Deductible

3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
