Protect your puppy!

The website had been down when I was trying to make a claim, so naturally I was a little frustrated. Patty, the manager, reached out to help me out and gave me some top not customer service to help me with my claim and inform me of the website going through some servicing. I appreciated the fast response and the manner of which we were helped. I am glad to have Prudent Pet insurance for my little puppy, Merlin. We just want to be able to give him the best care and are able to do that with Prudent Pet. I recommend this pet insurance company for the excellent customer service care.

Feel like it's worth it

After reviewing multiple insurance companies, I felt this the most affordable option with the best options for all 3 of my pets. I certainly hope I don't have to use the insurance, but I've had instances in the past where I've spent thousands of dollars on pet illnesses or injuries because I didn't have insurance on them.

I have not used the insurance yet

I have not used the insurance yet, I just purchased, it seemed ok other than I'm unclear if I just committed to a year with this insurance or I can cancel at any time and I need to get this cleared by calling them.

Monthly Cost

Monthly rates start at $10 for Accident only and $16 for Accident & Illness coverage. Those rates vary based on species, age, breed as well as your location.

Coverage

We cover based on the actual vet bill and have options for 90%, 80% or 70% reimbursement.

Payout Limits

We offer limits of $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 and an unlimited plan.  There are no lifetime limits with any option you choose.

Deductible

Choose a deductible that works best for you and your family, we offer $100, $250 and $500 options.

Age Limits

We have no age limits, but your pet will need to be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

For our accident & illness plans (essential & ultimate), we have a 14-day waiting period. Our accident-only policy only has a 5-day waiting period. There is no waiting period for wellness coverage.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered by our policies. Optional Wellness Details We have two preventive/wellness plan options. Our basic option costs $9.95/month* and our Prime option costs $24.95/month*. These cover things like wellness exams, dental cleanings, or flea/heartworm prevention. Reimbursement for these is based on a set maximum annual amount. *Correct Jan. 2019
