Prudent Pet for the WIN!!!
As a customer who has had dogs all her life, I never thought to have pet insurance for them. We just recently added to our family and decided it was a must! I called Prudent Pet's customer service line with a handful of questions and expected to get off the phone with even more questions left unanswered. I spoke with Monica who, not only was absolutely wonderful to talk to, but she was also extremely informative and answered every one of my questions and more! Choosing our dog Knight's Policy Plan was so easy and was done within minutes, with no pressure for signing him up for things we didn't need or couldn't necessarily afford. I found registering my children for school more difficult than this! With her background as a Vet Tech for over 20 years and now continuing to help families with their pets through a different outsource, seriously makes her that much more special. The love she has for all animals and their families truly speaks volumes to her character and professionalism. I will most definitely recommend Prudent Pet to all that have animals in need of that little extra to ensure they are kept healthy and happy!

THE ONLY REASON WHY WE DIDN'T GIVE PRUDENT PET A 5 ***** IS BECAUSE WE FELT THAT ON OUR INITIAL CLAIM THAT THEY WERE A TAD BIT WAY TO SLOW IN RETURNING OUR PORTION OF OUR MONEYS BACK... NOW WE REALIZE US BEING A BRAND NEW CUSTOMER, THEY GOT TO DO ALL THERE DUE DILIGENCE IN CROSSING THERE TT'S AND DOTTING THERE II'S... SO THAT'S WHY WE ACTUALLY DIDN'T GIVE THEM A 2**!!!!!!!!!!!... LASTLY, THE 2ND. TIME THEY WERE A LOT FASTER IN RETURNING OUR PART BACK TO US.... ALL IN ALL WE WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYBODY FOR YA'LL PETS INSURANCE BECAUSE THEY ARE REASONABLE THAN ANY OTHER PET HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES!!!!!! Monthly Cost
Monthly rates start at $10 for Accident only and $16 for Accident & Illness coverage. Those rates vary based on species, age, breed as well as your location.
Coverage
We cover based on the actual vet bill and have options for 90%, 80% or 70% reimbursement.
Payout Limits
We offer limits of $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 and an unlimited plan. There are no lifetime limits with any option you choose.
Deductible
Choose a deductible that works best for you and your family, we offer $100, $250 and $500 options.
Age Limits
We have no age limits, but your pet will need to be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.
Waiting Period
For our accident & illness plans (essential & ultimate), we have a 14-day waiting period. Our accident-only policy only has a 5-day waiting period. There is no waiting period for wellness coverage.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered by our policies.
Optional Wellness Details
We have two preventive/wellness plan options. Our basic option costs $9.95/month* and our Prime option costs $24.95/month*. These cover things like wellness exams, dental cleanings, or flea/heartworm prevention. Reimbursement for these is based on a set maximum annual amount.
