Excellent Customer Service
This is my third year with Prudent Pet. I've been very fortunate to have a healthy dog but for the couple of questions that I've had about the insurance, the customer service reps have always been very knowledgable and helpful. Plus, my insurance premium has actually gone down just a bit each year!

I was extremely impressed with Stephanie T, the representative I spoke to at Prudent Pet Insurance. She was knowledgeable and patient and took the time to understand my specific needs for my pets. The representative explained the different coverage options clearly and helped me choose the plan that was best for my furry friends. I feel confident that my pets are well protected with Prudent Pet Insurance.

Monthly Cost
Monthly rates start at $10 for Accident only and $16 for Accident & Illness coverage. Those rates vary based on species, age, breed as well as your location.
Coverage
We cover based on the actual vet bill and have options for 90%, 80% or 70% reimbursement.
Payout Limits
We offer limits of $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 and an unlimited plan. There are no lifetime limits with any option you choose.
Deductible
Choose a deductible that works best for you and your family, we offer $100, $250 and $500 options.
Age Limits
We have no age limits, but your pet will need to be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.
Waiting Period
For our accident & illness plans (essential & ultimate), we have a 14-day waiting period. Our accident-only policy only has a 5-day waiting period. There is no waiting period for wellness coverage.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered by our policies.
Optional Wellness Details
We have two preventive/wellness plan options. Our basic option costs $9.95/month* and our Prime option costs $24.95/month*. These cover things like wellness exams, dental cleanings, or flea/heartworm prevention. Reimbursement for these is based on a set maximum annual amount.
