I got this insurance in 2012 for my…

I got this insurance in 2012 for my dog. My dog was healthy so I never get to use it for about 8/9 years. At the age of 10 she was diagnosed with heart failure disease, her plan max for "incident" ( this is what they call her illness) was only $2500 . When I called - they explained that my policy is old and doesn't exist any longer. I asked to change a plan, which has not available?! Only to cancel and get a new plan, which would make me a "new" customer whose dog's heart disease would be treated as an " existing condition". After 11 years of being with this insurance and now paying $270 a month - my dog's pills and cardiologist would not be covered. I wish I can leave 0 stars. If you plan to get a new plan with pets best, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I am canceling after 11 years. This is why we get insurance - to have it now when I need the most. Utterly disappointed that I have to pay out of pocket for this.

After all you will be better by paying your own instead of having insurance. It doesnt cover anything. Out of 350 i just got back 64

I did my homework by researching many…

I did my homework by researching many pet insurances. This was the first time I ever purchased insurance for any of my pets. I am so happy that I chose Pets Best! They have many options to choose from and they have made my life so much better because I sadly have had to use it on my dog who is now terminal with heart disease. If I did not have this insurance, I would never have been able to help extend her life. For that I am extremely grateful.

Good process overall

Although the reimbursement process took a bit longer than expected, it was a relatively easy process. I wasn’t aware there are co pays so the reimbursement was less because of that as well. Overall it was a good experience though and I’m thankful for the insurance itself.

Good to have

I have insurance for 4 cats alot of my friends see the price and opt not to then ask about it once their pet is diagnosed with seizures or cancer. There is something called pre-existing and at that time it is too late to shop for pet insurance as it is not Obama care and none of the insurance companies will take pre existing conditions. So you need to make a decision before that illness comes into play and decide how you will handle those situations with your pet. Overall I'm pleased with my pet insurance with pets best and my vet likes them as well.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
