I have carried Pets Best on my dog for almost four years. It was great peace of mind even though I never used it - one very small claim the first year when she ate a chicken bone she found at the park. But recently she got very sick, and needed to spend two days in the hospital to survive. The vet thinks she ate a poisonous spider. The bill was huge. I carry one of the top plans for her with a low deductible. Pets Best covered everything but two small line items not in her policy coverage. I was reimbursed fast and their process was easy to use, I just uploaded pictures of the bills and vet notes. I recommend Pets Best to everyone I meet at the dog park. Everyone should have this, for peace of mind and so you know your dog can get the care they need when they need it. I carried it for years without needing it and hoped I never would need it, just like I've had car insurance for 20 years without ever being in an accident. But when I did need it, Pets Best was there for me. If you have a dog, you should have insurance on him/her, just like car insurance, home insurance, and your own health insurance. First my rates have gone through the roof. I pay half the premium for my dog that is one year younger at Trupanion. Then, I spent over a half hour on the phone with a representative trying to figure out which invoices I submitted already and which I didn't, because it is impossible to tell from website. She informed me that nothing was submitted after April 2015. When I submitted the receipts, the ones from that month were denied as duplicate submissions.

Premiums went up 50% two years in a row. So they doubled our premiums over 24 months. I just cancelled after the policy renewal raised our premiums again.
