Pets Best was originally recommended to…

Pets Best was originally recommended to me by a medical doctor who knew someone knowledgeable about the insurance business. Within a very short time of getting the coverage, my one year old rescued dog developed a severe tailbone infection and had to have it removed which was a very expensive operation. Pets Best never gave me any problems about it or the other two surgeries that were done a few years later for torn ACLs and throughout each claim the reps I talked to showed only concern for my dog's well being. Sure the rates have gone up over the years along with the high cost of living but when it strained my budget they worked with me to tailor the coverage down to something more affordable. I believe that if I stopped to do the math that I would still come out ahead and I'm not so sure that my now elderly dog would still be alive. I highly recommend Pets Best and have done so for years.

Crooks

Classified my claim as a preexisting condition. This was the first time my dog been seen by a vet other than for shots, so it doesn't fall into the legal definion of pre-existing condition since it was not diagnosed or treated prior. After appealing twice I get the same answer that it is pre-existing. I'd rather save my money for the $8K surgery I will now have to pay for rather than sue them.

Very Disappointed

Very disappointed. At first our claims were filed very quickly. After the company was bought out we noticed the process time to complete and actually receive reimbursement was more then five days. Moving forward this has caused us to re-evaluate Pets Best.

Although the service seems very complete and thorough, filing a claim is a bit complicated and slow.

Keep up the great work

As my cat aged he did have some medical problems and pets best reimbursed me quickly! When I needed to talk to a representative either by phone or email, they were so easy to contact . Each person was so kind and friendly! I'm am so grateful for your insurance! You made a difficult situation easier do to the fact that I didn't have to worry about the cost end of it. I do tell everyone how great your company is! Please keep up the great work! Thank you, Joanne Helmuth

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
