1st time had insurance on my pet, had several dogs in past and medical bills always cost along with RX's - so far this is great.

I would definitely advise anyone who has animals with dog or cat to purchase this insurance. As your animal gets older it seems that they get illness just like humans. One of my dogs were diabetic had to give her insulin daily. Another dog had asthma, had medications for that. Of course they were past the age of 5 years but it was always something. So our new dog is a puppy of 5 months she seems to start getting ear infections. So we received ear drops for her already. LOL This insurance is great so far.

Immense Help

Our poor girl has been through the ringer in just 6 short months. She has had to have 2 emergency spinal disc surgeries and Nationwide has been immensely helpful with regard to being fair with her coverage. They covered in full her CT scans and up to our limit after that. Every time I have spoken to a customer service rep, they are kind and helpful. I like that you have the option for direct deposit too once your claim has been paid! Expedites the process a bit, as it's a pretty slow one to begin with. Would most certainly recommend this company for your pets needs.

Really happy with Nationwide

We have been extremely happy with Nationwide’s coverage. I tell everyone asking for pet insurance (friends and the GSMD FB page) to go with Nationwide. Thank you for your concern regarding Grace, she had a bad strain but has recovered 100%; because I knew I could treat her immediately due to Nationwide covering her care.

Expensive but so far its been a good coverage plan

Its an expensive package and I think the $250 deductible is a bit high for what I pay per month, but because my cat is older I wanted something that covered the big stuff really well and this plan did that. However, because he's older when I signed up, the price per month is obviously much more expensive which is hard. Overall, my cat is extremely healthy and it is hard to meet the deductible every year, but I am preparing for when there might be something harder to deal with.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
