My dog was insured by Nationwide for…

My dog was insured by Nationwide for the entirety of his life. His last few months consisted of multiple claims and all were seamless including, most importantly, the last claim made for his euthanasia. Nationwide cancelled my policy after the euthanasia claim without need for a call and sent a lovely condolence card and a letter expressing condolences as well. We insured our new puppy with Nationwide the day we picked him up.

Benefits don't account for increased costs

I had always been happy with my Nationwide Pet Insurance and recommended them to everyone, until now. Insurance saved me quite a bit of money in the past with both my dogs, however, they don't save you nearly as much as they used to, and I'm not sure the cost of the policy is worth the amount they reimburse for. I'm sure everyone has noticed a significant increase in veterinary expenses; diagnostics like X-rays, ultrasounds, and medications have gone up in price substantially in the last five years, as well as the cost of insurance, yet the coverage the insurance provides is the same as it was back in 2018 when I first got my pets insurance policy. My insurance has gone up $100.00 per month in the last two years, but the amount they reimburse for everything has remained the exact same amount. I find that to be a bit insane. I guess it's to be expected when it comes to insurance companies, but it's hard to justify spending over $2500 per year on pet insurance, which now only covers about half the amount of the vet bills. I'm still left paying thousands, on top of the thousands I'm paying for coverage. If my dog weren't a senior at this point, I'd be shopping for a new insurance company, but I definitely won't be referring people anymore. I would think that at least some sort of benefits increase would be warranted at this point.
