Run! Don't Walk!

When I purchased this policy, I was told that my pet did not have any pre-existing conditions. After I filed the claim, I was told that the treatment she received was for a pre-existing condition. Furthermore, before the policy was purchased, 6 months of records were requested. I had not had this dog for 6 months, so I provided the records that I did have. Again, no pre-existing conditions were discovered. I summitted the claim for her recent visit. Now, 24 months of records were requested, suddenly she has a pre-existing condition. (Mind you, the same records were submitted, as the initial request prior to the policy's purchase). Please do yourself a favor and find yourself a decent insurance company for your pet. I plan to report this to the Better Business, The PA Bureau of Consumer Protection, as well as my attorney. I will share my experience on every electronic review site, social media platform possible, and I encourage you to do the same. In addition to this, I was also denied access to a live agent by their automated phone system, which disconnected me 3x for it's inability to "understand" the information I provided.

I am distraught with Nationwide pet…

I am distraught with Nationwide pet insurance, as the one time I needed them to cover a surgery in 8 years of having a policy, they are denying it. I have carried Nationwide pet insurance since my yellow Lab, Beau, was a puppy. I have major medical and have had very few claims over the past 8 years. Beau had a mass on his leg and the the needle biopsy was inconclusive to our Vet. She said it could be a joint cyst or joint sarcoma and referred me to a surgical vet specialist. The Specialist wanted to get the mass off right away and send it to pathology. the surgery was $3400. Nationwide will not pay for the surgery, stating that they have already paid the amount allowed for a synovial cyst. Both my vet and the surgeon have reached out to them to tell them they were not certain it was a cyst, but they still denied the claim. Basically, Beau would have had to have cancer for them to cover the surgery to remove it. It is not worth paying monthly for this insurance if they won't cover the high cost of surgery when it is clearly needed and part of major medical
