Maggie’s vet costs, diagnosis, surgery and follow-up, were reimbursed, according to our plan, in a timely fashion. It gave us much relief at a very stressful time. We are happy to note that our sweet dog has completely recovered. Thank you Nationwide.

This pet insurance is available through my employer, Cornell University. It has definitely paid for itself. I have 3 dogs covered under a plan.

Useful insurance. Easy to enroll and claim.

Premium was reasonable and it was easy to sign up. Our cat, Chubbs had a small accident when he leapt off a ladder and ladder fell and hit his leg. He was limping a little and we brought him to the pet hospital immediately and we had no worries about what can be covered etc because we knew Nationwide will cover most of it. The claim process was simple and quick. This is also one of the few pet insurance to do wellness claims as well.

Nationwide Pet Insurance is a must have for when your pet gets sick or injured. It has been a relief to know each time my dog has been sick or injured that Nationwide could ease the burden of the costs.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
