Service great. Claim filing challenging, unfriendly website for accounts following

nationwide has been great for all my pets. The claim filing can be challenging since i file paper claims. The account website is diffinetly not friendly. Going in and out of each pet is very difficult and time consuming. The previous format was more user friendly

Not sure wellness care is worth it

Hello. While we have found the injury coverage invaluable, especially for our older dog Beau, the wellness coverage isn't so good. Nationwide has finally started to pay less for Beau (he is 14 and has cancer) but, the coverage has been fantastic and helped us to look after Beau. The well ness coverage we have for Elsa as well as injury, doesn't even cover Elsa's annual exam so I do not feel we are getting value for money for that and I will probably cancel it soon.

Every pet owner needs pet insurance!

Pet insurance is a must! I recently took my dog in for her annual wellness exam and to update a few of her vaccines. She needed a few extra vaccines since we moved to a different state. I was concerned about the cost, but fortunately Nationwide reimbursed well over 90% of the claim! Pet insurance allows my dog to get the best care and it doesn’t cost me a fortune. Initially, I was skeptical that nationwide might not cover as much of my claims as advertised, but so far I have been very pleased. We even had to deal with a bought of stomach/colon issues and an emergency vet visit earlier this year which was around $450 out of pocket, but it was largely reimbursed.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
