MetLife | Pet Insurance Review

My baby was in the ICU for 72 hours and the bill was high. Met Life Pet sent a check within 1 week of me submitting the information. Fast service and condolences because my baby passed away

I am truly grateful for MetLife Pet Insurance. From the beginning and all the way until my pet passed away, they supported me during one of the hardest times of my life. Their coverage and guidance helped ease the financial stress, allowing me to focus on loving and caring for my pet until the very end. The claims process was clear. I highly recommend MetLife to any pet parent who wants compassionate and reliable support.

Fast and efficient

I signed up with MetLife pet insurance three years ago. I, unfortunately, expect small premium increases each year but this year (2026) my premium went up by more than 50% — almost $1000 increase. And that is with a discount for paying it in full! For context, I had no vets visits in the past year with the exception of my dog’s annual wellness/vaccines. My dog turned five this year so he’s not even that old. It’s appalling and feels like a money grab. I do not recommend MetLife to others.

We switched our Pet Insurance because the monthly premium is much more affordable than the previous one which we like because we have three rescue dogs and they're all seniors. Only one thing it bothered was they have made mistakes twice already about our claims. One was they sent us a totally wrong person's claim review and the other was calculation of reimbursement was wrong , so we had to ask to fix. A few issues, but was fixed immediately and we are happy with Metlife.
