Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Our chocolate lab, Quincy Jones, got sick because he ate something he shouldn't have (pretty typical for labs, eh?). Unfortunately he had to go the ER to get checked up and had to stay for several days :( Luckily everything turned out just fine. We sent the claims for both the regular vet and ER vet, it was approved within 1 day (AMAZINGLY fast!), and they covered everything that was stipulated in the initial paperwork. No surprises, nothing. Furthermore, the CEO reached out to us later and asked us about how Quincy was doing. Just an overall warm and pleasant experience (except for Quincy getting sick). I would recommend this to any and all people who are considering pet insurance - which if you have a labrador, you better seriously think about it!

Having checked a few recommended companies for pet insurance, we chose Healthy Paws as it seemed to be the best coverage at the best price. What we didn't anticipate is how easy a process it is to file a claim and how unbelievably prompt their response and payment are. You hear back from then by email almost immediately. They also follow-up to check on your pet and clearly read any response that you send in. They offer a straight-forward and caring service. Human health insurance could learn much from them.

One of our three cats, Theodore, was recently diagnosed with an entropion: the eyelid had swollen so that the hair on it was irritating the eye so badly it caused ulcers on the eye itself. Although unusual in cats, our vets had seen this before and recommended surgery to prevent any further or permanent damage to the eye. Knowing that we had insurance helped make our decision to have the surgery a little easier.Healthy Paws response was outstanding. I emailed in our scanned claims and by the end of the day, I received a response email indicating out claims had been processed and that we'd be receiving a check shortly. However, even more outstanding were the follow up emails asking how our "boy" came through the surgery and wishing him a swift recovery. I wish we had that kind of interest and service from our human insurance companies! My wife and I had considered changing over to the pet insurance offered by her company, which would be slightly better financially for us. But, after this experience, we decided we can't do any better than Healthy Paws for our three "kids."

I have been using Healthy Paws for just over a year now and I have nothing but good things to say! For about 10 months I did not file any claims with them so I was not sure how it would be when I needed to. When my cat became inexplicably ill I was worried that it may be hard to get Healthy Paws to pay the claim. The bill was very high and I thought that they would fight any way that they could to get out of payment. That is not at all what happened! The claim was emailed and was approved within 5 hours and I had a check in the mail in the next week or two. It was fantastic. In addition, every time I called in with questions the representatives seemed to have genuine compassion for what I was going through with my best friend so sick. After the claim, they emailed me to check on my cat and make sure she was doing ok. I could not ask for anything more, I only wish I had insurance this great.

I am new to Pet Insurance and wasn't sure if it was right for us but then found Healthy Paws and thought we'd give it a try. Well thank goodness we had them! Our Pug began to suffer from some GI difficulties and we submitted our first claim. Once Healthy Paws had his medical records, the claim was processed in a blink of an eye! You submit your claim one day, it gets processed the next and a check is sent! It's that crazy fast! We love Healthy Paws! They have made our sweet boy's illness easier to deal.
