No pet insurance company covers pre-existing conditions, but Figo is the only one who will help you identify those conditions at the start of your policy. If you don’t think you’ll get value out of pet insurance after your initial review, just cancel within 30 days of signing up to get your money back.

Usability issues but good service

The web site needs a thorough usability review. In particular, some colors don't show up on all browsers -- specifically FIrefox and IE, which are widely used. So, when trying to enter information or respond to required fields, they simply aren't visible to the customer. Follow-up to questions is prompt but only after a frustrating experience. Every web page should be tested on all major browsers to ensure that all fields are visible! Don't let designers select colors that are problematic.

A complete service

Figo has been nothing short of amazing in assisting with getting to know about and using pet insurance. One month after buying Figo my 4 month old kitten broke her leg. I was able to seamlessly submit my claims, receive assistance and ultimately my payout in a timely fashion. They even sent a get well card! I have a dedicated customer service rep which I have developed a relationship with. Overall it is a great value and user experience, both online and the phone. Yay Figo!

Monthly Cost

$9 to $135 on average depending on chosen plan.

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.

Age Limits

Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.

Waiting Period

1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)

Exclusions

Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences We now have a wellness option We have a diminishing deductible Copay & deductible waived for emergency life-saving treatment (in the case of an accident, not illness)
