Figo | Pet Insurance Review

Our dog, four years old, has always been healthy. In December, he contracted a strange cough. Took him to our vet twice. He was diagnosed with allergies (it was most likely kennel cough). This incorrect diagnosis and improper medication made it worse. Long story short; due to a bad diagnosis, our dog ended up with pneumonia. We contacted the 24 hour vet line and the Figo vet instructed us to rush him to the ER. He was in the hospital for six days, on a ventilator for two. We have never had to use our pet insurance before. Thank goodness for it. The bill was huge. With two days of submitting all receipts, the money was deposited into our account. I feel sorry for those who have to make the horrible decision to let their pet go because of how expensive emergency care can be. He is now five years old, back to near 95% after his severe pneumonia, thanks to Figo insurance.

Quick response and good information exchange between Fido and the Vet

I switched over to a new insurance a few years ago and I am so glad I did! Figo has been great and with a pet that is has been having a lot of injuries the past year, the app as made is super easy to file a claim.

Multiple issues with Figo. My claim for one of my dogs was denied as Figo claimed it was an existing condition although my dog had never had a blood blister/scab on the middle of his back. A cyst was found under the scab. No where in his medical history did he have a blood blister/scab on the middle of his back with cyst. Furthermore, Figo has made it very difficult to get my claims paid out. Claims paid in the past were easier to get paid out than recent claims with the same and/or less documentation provided. It appears Figo doesn't like to pay claims once they have paid a large amount of money associated with claims.

Both of my cats have had to have surgery in the past year. Figo makes filing claims easy and pays quickly so that I don't have to worry about being able to afford quality healthcare and procedures for my babies.
