If you are considering getting FIGO… PLEASE DON'T!!!

If you are considering buying FIGO pet insurance, please do yourself a favor and DON'T. We purchased pet insurance for our cat, she had an accident that required an amputation, and due to their "pre-existing conditions" clause, which basically says and any sign that shows your pet isn't in perfect health within the last year means that your pet has a pre-existing condition and therefore you will receive no reimbursement. FIGO did not reimburse any of the $7000.00 that went into surgery and visits and I sadly do not trust them to provide any if I appealed. I will no longer be supporting this insurance.

Declined coverage:

We were shy of approx. 12 hours from the time our new rescue pooch saw the vet to the time our FIGO insurance kicked in and FIGO did not budge on covering our rescue pooches allergies. Our vet even wrote a letter explaining it was better to get the pooch in sooner than later to give an exam and to not cover her allergies because we were12 hours shy of the two week waiting period is deplorable. We have a claim number and they still declined to cover.

Best Insurance for Pets

Figo is affordable and reliable for all your pets needs. I have had them since 2019 and have added all my pets whenever I got one. Highly recommend Figo!!!!!

Monthly Cost

$9 to $135 on average depending on chosen plan.

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.

Age Limits

Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.

Waiting Period

1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)

Exclusions

Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences We now have a wellness option We have a diminishing deductible Copay & deductible waived for emergency life-saving treatment (in the case of an accident, not illness)
